"Runaway" is a debut song written by Stephen Barker Liles, Robert Blackledge and Canaan Smith and recorded by American country music group Love and Theft. It is the lead-off single from the band's debut album '' World Wide Open''. The song debuted on the Hot Country Songs chart in March 2009. Content The song's narrator wants to get from with his current life as it is not going well, and he decides to become a "runaway." Critical reception Dan Milliken of Country Universe.net gave the song a C rating, and said this in his review of the song that the band "is another three-piece boy band who sound like they paid a lot of attention to 80’s pop-rock and care deeply about the inner yearnings of suburban girls between the ages of 11 and 17." Love And Theft (band)
Love and Theft is an American country music duo consisting of vocalists Eric Gunderson and Stephen Barker Liles. They originally recorded as a trio with vocalist Brian Bandas; after he exited the band, Gunderson and Liles continued as a duo. Signed to Lyric Street Records subsidiary Carolwood Records in 2009, Love and Theft made their chart debut in early 2009 with the single " Runaway," which reached the Top 10 on ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs. The band's debut album, '' World Wide Open'', was released on August 25, 2009. In 2011, following the departure of Bandas, Love and Theft continued as a duo consisting of Gunderson and Liles. The duo moved to RCA Records Nashville that year and released the single " Angel Eyes", which became their first number 1 single. Rascal Flatts is an American Country music, country music band formed in 1999 in Nashville, Tennessee. The band consists of Gary LeVox (lead vocals), Jay DeMarcus (bass guitar, background vocals), and Joe Don Rooney (lead guitar, background vocals). DeMarcus is LeVox's second cousin, a brother-in-law of country music singer James Otto, and was previously a member of the contemporary Christian music duo East to West.
