Wayne Barnes
Wayne Barnes (born 20 April 1979) is a retired English international rugby union referee. He was a frequent referee in the English Premiership, and refereed games in the Heineken Cup and the European Challenge Cup. At international level, Barnes refereed matches at the Rugby World Cup, the Six Nations, the Rugby Championship and the Pacific Nations Cup competitions. Early life Born in Bream, in the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, he was educated at Whitecross School; and the University of East Anglia, graduating with a law degree in 2000. Touch match officials are responsible for fairly enforcing the ''Playing Rules'' of Touch during a match and imposing penalties for deliberate breaches of these rules. The Western Force is an Australian professional rugby union team based in Perth, Western Australia, currently competing in Super Rugby, Super Rugby Pacific. They previously played in Super Rugby from 2006 until they were axed from the competition in 2017. Super Rugby is a men's professional rugby union club competition involving teams from Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, and the Pacific Islands.
