Rugby sevens at the 2023 European Games was held in Kraków, Poland. The gold medalists in the men's and women's tournaments qualified for the 2024 Summer Olympics. 2022 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Championship Series
The 2022 Rugby Europe Women's Sevens Championship Series will be the 2022 edition of Rugby Europe's annual rugby sevens season. Ten participating nations will compete in two legs, in Lisbon, Portugal, and Kraków, Poland. There was a separate 2022 Rugby World Cup Sevens European Qualifier event held in Bucharest in July. Russia and Ukraine were both scheduled to participate, however, following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, the World Rugby Executive Council barred the Rugby Union of Russia and Ukraine withdrew. Both France and Ireland, who were due to be relegated to the 2022 Trophy tournament as a punishment for not fielding teams in the previous 2021 Championship competition, were awarded the places vacated by Russia and Ukraine. Terry Kennedy (born 4 July 1996) is an Irish rugby union player who plays for the Ireland national rugby sevens team. Rugby career Kennedy was a member of the Irish team that won the silver medals of 2017 Rugby Europe Sevens Grand Prix Series. He also helped Ireland win the 2018 Moscow Sevens tournament — he scored two tries in the final as Ireland defeated Germany 28–7, and was the leading try scorer in the tournament overall with nine tries. Kennedy scored a try in the final of the 2019 Hong Kong Sevens qualifier to help Ireland defeat Hong Kong 28–7 and qualify for the 2019–20 World Rugby Sevens Series. Harry McNulty (born 5 March 1993) is an Irish former rugby union player. He most notably played for and captained the Ireland national rugby sevens team. Early life McNulty was born in Bahrain to Irish parents. His father worked in financial services and is a former Bahrain Rugby Club player. Jack Kelly (born 26 October 1997) is an Irish former rugby union player, who played for the Ireland national rugby sevens team. Early life Kelly was born in Dublin. He lived for two years in France during his childhood, also playing rugby, and speaks fluent French. Kelly attended secondary school at St. Michael's College in Dublin. Despite playing in several strong school teams with fellow future professional rugby players such as Dan Leavy, James Ryan and others, he did not win a Leinster Schools Rugby Senior Cup medal.
