Rudolf Martin
Rudolf Martin (born 31 July 1967) is a German actor working mainly in the United States. He first appeared in off-Broadway productions and then moved on to extensive TV and film work. He has made guest appearances on numerous hit television series and recently started working in Germany as well. He currently resides in Los Angeles. Early life and education Martin was born in West Berlin and spent his early years traveling throughout Europe while completing his education. Because of his interest in the arts, Martin studied American and English literature in Berlin and drama in Paris. He then enrolled in the Lee Strasberg Theatre Institute in New York City to pursue acting. While performing in small theatre productions, Martin secured a starring role in Susan Seidelman's Academy Award-nominated short film '' The Dutch Master''. Otto Rudolf Martin Brendel (12 August 1862 – 6 September 1939) was a German astronomer. Born in Berlin-Niederschönhausen, he obtained the first successful photograph of the Aurora (astronomy), aurora borealis at Bossekop in northern Norway in 1892. He died in Freiburg. The asteroid 761 Brendelia is named after Brendel. Rudolf Martin (1 July 1864 – 11 July 1925) was a Swiss anthropologist, specializing in physical anthropology. Martin's second wife, Stefanie Oppenheim, survived him and edited a second (1928) edition of his physical anthropology textbook. Rudolf Martin’s Historical Archive Rudolf Martin was a Professor of Physical Anthropology in Munich, who had become inspired by the discovery of the ‘ Java Man’ (Pithecanthropus erectus) in 1893 in Java, by the Dutch anthropologist Eugene Dubois. Dubois' publications on the 'Missing Link' became the CenterPoint of the Archive of Rudolf Martin, comprising more than 43,000 historical documents, manuscripts, scientific books and journals. The Archive been safeguarded in 1940 from Germany just before WW II. It went to the Institute of Physical Anthropology of Utrecht University until the institute was discontinued in 1993. He was a student of Wagenseil at the University of Altdorf, and followed his teacher in study of the depiction of Christianity in the Talmud.
