Rudi Carrell Show
Rudi Carrell (born Rudolf Wijbrand Kesselaar; 19 December 1934 – 7 July 2006) was a Dutch entertainer. Along with famous entertainers such as Johannes Heesters and Linda de Mol, he was one of the most successful Dutch personalities active in Germany. He worked as a television entertainer and hosted his own show; the ''Rudi Carrell Show'' ran first in the Netherlands, and then for many years in Germany. As a singer he had a number of hits, including a Dutch version of "A Windmill in Old Amsterdam", and acted in several movies. He also recorded several songs in German. ''Eurovision Song Contest'' Carrell represented the Netherlands at the Eurovision Song Contest 1960 with the song "Wat een geluk" ("What luck"). He finished 12th out of 13, scoring just two points. The Eurovision Song Contest 1961 was the 6th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest, held on 18 March 1961 in the in Cannes, France. Organised by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) and host broadcaster (RTF), and originally known as the (), the contest was held in following the country's victory at the with the song "Tom Pillibi" by Jacqueline Boyer. Greetje Kauffeld
Greetje Kauffeld (born 26 November 1939) is a Dutch jazz singer and Schlager musician. Biography Greetje Kauffeld was born in Rotterdam. As a child she sang hits by popular American singers and participated in school choir. When she was thirteen, she sang in a band for a Radio Hilversum competition. Later, the family moved to Zeeland. At sixteen, she was lead singer of the Skymasters, a popular band which performed on radio and in concert tours. Since the orchestra also accompanied Evelyn Künneke, René Carol, Rudi Schuricke and Fred Bertelmann, she came into contact with pop stars of the time. At the Festival della Canzone in Venice, :de:Erwin Lehn invited the band to perform at his radio station, the South German Radio in Stuttgart. He made several recordings with her. The Netherlands has been represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 65 times since making its debut as one of the seven countries at the first contest in . "n Beetje" (; "A little bit"), spelled in full as "Een beetje", is a song recorded by Dutch singer Teddy Scholten with music composed by and Dutch lyrics written by Willy van Hemert. It in the Eurovision Song Contest 1959 held in Cannes, winning the contest. It was the second victory for the country in the first four years of the contest. Background Conception "n Beetje" was composed by and Dutch lyrics by Willy van Hemert. It is more up-tempo than the previous winners had been, as well as being somewhat less serious. It is sung from the perspective of a young woman being asked by her lover if she is "true" and "faithful", to which she answers "A little bit". This unusual admission is then justified by the comment that "everyone is in love at least once", hence nobody can be said to be entirely faithful to anyone. Dorothea Margaretha "Teddy" Scholten (; 11 May 1926 – 8 April 2010) was a Dutch singer and television presenter. She is known for winning the Eurovision Song Contest 1959 with the song " Een beetje", representing the Netherlands. Career In 1950, Scholten was invited by The Coca-Cola Company to perform at a show in the United States. She was one of the first Dutch popular music artists to perform in the United States. In 1959, she won the ''Nationaal Songfestival'' 1959 with the song " Een beetje", written by Willy van Hemert and Dick Schallies. This gave her the right to represent the Netherlands in the Eurovision Song Contest 1959, held in Cannes, France.
