Rosser is a rural municipality (RM) in the Canadian province of Manitoba, lying adjacent to the northwest side of Winnipeg and part of the Winnipeg Metro Region. Its population as of the 2016 Census was 1,372. It is situated along Provincial Trunk Highway 6, and Winnipeg's Perimeter Highway. CentrePort Canada lies primarily in the eastern part of the RM, inside the Perimeter Highway. A small portion of Winnipeg James Armstrong Richardson International Airport also lies within the RM of Rosser. Water services are provided by the Cartier Regional Water Cooperative. The CentrePort distribution line serves CentrePort development and the RM of Rosser. Water sourced from the Assiniboine River is treated at Headingley before being sent out thru distribution channels. Rosser is a village in Kaufman County, Texas, United States. The population was 332 at the 2010 census. Geography Rosser is in southwestern Kaufman County, about northeast of the Trinity River and the county line. The southeastern edge of the village follows Texas State Highway 34, which runs northeast to Kaufman, the county seat, and southwest to Ennis. According to the United States Census Bureau, Rosser has a total area of , of which , or 1.49%, are water. Hamish Rosser (born 16 May 1974) is an Australian rock musician. He is best known for his time in The Vines and his current position in Wolfmother. Early life Hamish’s musical journey began when he took up the guitar at the age of eight. By the time he turned eleven he had switched to drums and bought his first set of drums with money saved up from a paper round in his Sydney neighbourhood. Rosser's first gig was with high school punk band called "The Warthogs" who covered The Clash, The Ramones and the Sex Pistols. Rosser studied chemical engineering at Sydney University and stayed there for four years until he left to pursue a career as a musician. Career Rosser was asked to join The Vines to replace the band's previous drummer, David Oliffe. He left the Vines, along with guitarist Ryan Griffiths, in December 2011. Celia Elizabeth Rosser (born 1930) is an Australian botanical illustrator, best known for having published '' The Banksias'', a three-volume series of monographs containing watercolour paintings of every '' Banksia'' species. Born Celia Elizabeth Prince, she began painting Australian wildflowers early in her artistic career. She first began painting ''Banksia''s after seeing a '' Banksia serrata'' near her home in Orbost, Victoria. Her first exhibition was at Leveson Gallery in Melbourne in 1965, and included three watercolours of ''Banksia'' species. Two years later she published ''Wildflowers of Victoria''. In 1970, Rosser was appointed Science Faculty Artist at Monash University. She illustrated Peter Bridgewater's ''The Saltmarsh Plants of Southern Australia'' and ''The Mosses of Southern Australia'' by George Scott and Ilma Grace Stone. Arthur Rosser (16 April 1864 – 15 February 1954) was a notable New Zealand builder, local-body politician and trade unionist. Biography Early life He was born in Oystermouth, Glamorganshire, Wales in 1864. His family migrated to New Zealand when he was eight years old and grew up in the Auckland suburb of Newton. Upon completing his education, Rosser became a builder by trade. Whilst working as a carpenter he married Sarah Louisa Craig on 30 November 1886. Trade union career After he was blacklisted by conservative building contractors due to his links with the Liberal Party, Rosser took up a new career as a union organiser, the first in Auckland. Within twelve years he was involved in the formation of nine new trade unions and was himself the secretary of many of them, demonstrating a skill for arbitration.
