''Roseanne'' is an American television sitcom created by Matt Williams (producer), Matt Williams that originally aired on American Broadcasting Company, ABC from October 18, 1988, to May 20, 1997, and briefly revived from March 27, 2018, to May 22, 2018. Starring Roseanne Barr as Roseanne Conner, it revolves around her family in the fictional town of Lanford, Illinois. Receiving generally positive reviews for its realistic portrayal of a working-class American family, the series reached No. 1 in the Nielsen ratings from 1989 to 1990 in its second season. During the initial run, the series remained in the top four for six of the nine seasons, and in the top 20 for eight. During the short-lived revival, the series reached No. 3, with an average of 18 million viewers per episode within the span of its nine episodes. Roseanne Cherrie Barr (born November 3, 1952), also known mononymously as Roseanne, is an American actress, comedian, writer, and producer. She began her career in stand-up comedy before gaining acclaim in the television sitcom ''Roseanne'' (1988–1997; 2018). She won an Emmy and a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress for her work on the show. ''Roseanne'' was revived in 2018 on American Broadcasting Company, ABC. ''The Roseanne Show'' is an American first-run syndicated talk show that was hosted by Roseanne Barr. The show ran for two seasons from September 14, 1998, to June 23, 2000, in which it broadcast 281 episodes. Format The show featured Barr interviewing guests. During some episodes there were live call-ins or web chats from viewers and celebrities. The set of the show consisted of a living room, a kitchen, and a garden scene. The set rotated to present a different interview setting. The show also featured skits with audience member participation. Skits included ''Judge Roseanne'', ''The Dr. Is In-sane'' and a dating game-esque skit. Some skits also included her producer Mary Pelloni. Throughout the show's entire two-year run, Dailey Pike was Roseanne's warmup guy and sidekick regular on the show. In season one, Zach Hope was Roseanne's cyber sidekick. ''The Real Roseanne Show'' is a reality show that aired briefly in 2003 about actress and comedian Roseanne Barr hosting a cooking show, called ''Domestic Goddess''. It premiered on ABC on August 6, 2003 to 5.5 million viewers. ''Domestic Goddess'' was scheduled to air September 20, 2003 but was canceled after Barr declared the pilot unfit to broadcast and due to her having an emergency hysterectomy, which made reshoots impossible. ''Roseanne's Nuts'' is a reality docudrama television series that features Roseanne Barr, her partner Johnny Argent and son Jake Pentland as they live on their macadamia nut and livestock farm in Hawaii. It features celebrity guests like, Bonnie Bramlett, Michael Fishman, Phyllis Diller, and Sandra Bernhard. The series originally aired on Lifetime. The series premiered on July 13, 2011, with two half-hour episodes and received mixed reviews based on its first episode.
