Roosevelt Station (Sound Transit)
Roosevelt station is a light rail station located in the Roosevelt, Seattle, Roosevelt neighborhood of Seattle, Washington, United States. It is served by the 1 Line (Sound Transit), 1 Line of Sound Transit's Link light rail system, which continues north to Northgate station (Sound Transit), Northgate station and south to Downtown Seattle and SeaTac, Washington, SeaTac. The underground station consists of a single island platform connected to the surface via a mezzanine and two entrances along 12th Avenue Northeast at Northeast 65th and 67th streets. Construction on the Northgate extension was approved by voters in a 2008 ballot measure and began in 2012. Roosevelt is a neighborhood in northern Seattle, Washington. Its main thoroughfare, originally 10th Avenue, was renamed Roosevelt Way upon Theodore Roosevelt's death in 1919. Tunnel Boring Machine
A tunnel boring machine (TBM), also known as a "mole" or a "worm", is a machine used to excavate tunnels. TBMs are an alternative to drilling and blasting methods and "hand mining", allowing more rapid excavation through hard rock, wet or dry soil, or sand (although each requires specialized TBM technologies). TBM-bored tunnel cross-sections extend up to (through June 2023). TBM tunnels are typically circular in cross-section, but may also be square or rectangular, or U- or horseshoe-shaped. Much narrower tunnels are typically bored using trenchless construction methods or horizontal directional drilling rather than by TBMs. TBMs limit disturbance to the surrounding ground and produce a smooth tunnel wall, which reduces the cost of lining the tunnel; it also allows for tunneling in urban areas. RapidRide J Line
RapidRide is a network of limited-stop bus routes with some bus rapid transit features in King County, Washington, operated by King County Metro. The network consists of eight routes totaling that carried riders on approximately 64,860 trips on an average weekday in 2016, comprising about 17 percent of King County Metro's total daily ridership. RapidRide lines are faster than typical local bus routes because they service fewer stops (on average, 40% fewer than the routes they replaced), make extensive use of bus priority to preempt traffic lights, and on some lines, use special lanes to bypass traffic. Ravenna Park
Ravenna Park and Cowen Park comprise a single contiguous recreation and green space between the Ravenna and University District neighborhoods of Seattle, Washington in the United States. These public parks encompass the ravine with a maximum depth of through which Ravenna Creek flows.
