Eleanor Roosevelt High School is a high school located in Eastvale, California. The school opened in 2006. It is one of eight high schools in the Corona-Norco Unified School District and currently the only one located in Eastvale. It also has the eSTEM program, built in 2018. EMU is home to many notable structures, including three high-rise residence halls and the multi-building Eastern Michigan University Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places. Today EMU is composed of more than 122 buildings across of its academic and athletic campus. The oldest remaining buildings on campus are Starkweather Hall and Welch Hall; the tallest buildings on campus are Hoyt, Hill, and Pittman Halls (collectively known as the Towers). History Roosevelt High School opened in the St. Johns neighborhood of Portland in 1922 as a replacement for James John High School. James John High School – named after James John, the founder of the St. Johns settlement – was constructed in 1911 when St. Johns was still a separate city from Portland. The school became a part of Portland Public Schools after St. Johns was annexed to Portland in 1915. Roosevelt High School was a public high school in Dayton, Ohio, United States, that was part of the Dayton Public Schools. The school was named for U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt and opened in 1923. At the time of its construction, it was believed to have been the largest high school in the eastern U.S. Athletic teams competed in the Dayton City League and were known as the "Teddy Bears" or "Teddies" with school colors of red and white. The school closed in 1975 and the building was used for school district offices and other functions. It was demolished in 2008 to make way for the Dayton Boys Preparatory Academy, an elementary school for boys in grades kindergarten through eight, which opened in December 2010. The Theodore Roosevelt High School was a public high school opened in 1926, operated by Yonkers Public Schools, located on the corner of Tuckahoe Road and Central Park Avenue in Yonkers, New York. It shared its campus with Early College High School from 2010, which completely replaced Roosevelt High School in 2013. Then, due to fierce opposition by alumni, on June 18, 2014, the Yonkers Board of Education voted to rename Early College High School, to the new name of Roosevelt High School – Early College Studies. The class of 2013 was the last graduating class at the original Roosevelt High School, as the building changed its name, school colors, and mascot to "Early College High School".
