Adrian Richard West Room (27 September 1933, Melksham – 6 November 2010, Stamford, Lincolnshire)''Contemporary Authors Online'', Gale, 2002; accessed 20 May 2013. was a British toponymist and onomastician, a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society and a prolific author of reference works relating primarily to the origins of word and place-names. Between 1952 and 1979, Room served in the Royal Naval Reserve, Special Branch, retiring as a Lieutenant Commander. Before becoming a full-time author, he was employed at King's College School, Cambridge, where he taught modern languages and was a senior house master. It was being developed by Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and beta tested in Japan, from October 2009 to April 2010 for the PlayStation Portable on the PlayStation Network. Henry Room
Henry Room (1802–1850) was an English portrait-painter, from an evangelical background in Birmingham. Life Henry Room was born in Newhall Street, the son of John Room, a japanner, and studied at Joseph Barber's drawing school on Great Charles Street. An original member of the Royal Birmingham Society of Artists, he was also one of the group of artists that broke away from the Society in 1828 to exhibit at a rival institution in Temple Row. Room was in London in the late 1820s, sharing a studio with Peter Hollins in Old Bond Street. He was a deacon in the church of John Morison. He was a frequent exhibitor at the Royal Academy from 1826 onwards and completed many portraits of missionaries, academics and reformers which were engraved by John Cochran. Frederick George Room
Frederick George Room VC (31 May 1895 – 19 January 1932) was an English recipient of the Victoria Cross, the highest and most prestigious award for gallantry in the face of the enemy that can be awarded to British and Commonwealth forces. Early life Frederick George Room was born in the Horfield suburb of Bristol, England. Victoria Cross He was 22 years old, and an acting lance-corporal in the 2nd Battalion, The Royal Irish Regiment, British Army during the First World War when the following deed took place for which he was awarded the VC. His Victoria Cross is displayed at the National Army Museum in Chelsea, London, England. Death Room died at a hospital in Bristol on 19 January 1932, aged 36, following a long period of illness. He is buried at Greenbank Cemetery in Bristol.
