Romanzo Criminale
''Romanzo criminale'' (; "Criminal Novel") is an Italian-language crime drama film released in 2005, directed by Michele Placido. It was highly acclaimed and won 15 awards. It is based on Giancarlo De Cataldo's 2002 novel, which is in turn inspired by the true story of the Banda della Magliana. The Magliana gang was one of the most powerful Italian criminal associations, dominating Rome's drug, gambling and other kinds of crime activities from the early 1970s until the death of Enrico De Pedis in 1992. The gang's affiliates started their career kidnapping rich people, drug dealing (hashish, cocaine, heroin, etc.). From the 1970s they started working with the Italian secret service, fascists, terrorists, the Sicilian Mafia, the Camorra, and many more. Michele Placido
Michele Placido (; born 19 May 1946) is an Italian actor, director and screenwriter. He began his career on stage, and first gained mainstream attention through a series of roles in films directed by the likes of Mario Monicelli and Marco Bellocchio, winning the Berlin International Film Festival, Berlinale's Silver Bear for Best Actor for his performance in the 1979 film Ernesto (film), ''Ernesto''. He is known internationally for portraying police inspector Corrado Cattani on the crime drama television series ''La piovra'' (1984–2001). Placido's directorial debut, ''Pummarò'', was screened Un Certain Regard at the 1990 Cannes Film Festival. Three of his films have competed for the Golden Lion at the Venice Film Festival. Enrico De Pedis
Enrico De Pedis (; 15 May 1954 − 2 February 1990) was an Italian gangster and one of the bosses of the Banda della Magliana, an Italian criminal organization based in the city of Rome, particularly active throughout the late 1970s until the early 1990s. His nickname was ''"Renatino"''. Unlike other members of his gang, De Pedis possessed a strong entrepreneurial spirit. While other members squandered their earnings, he invested his illicit proceeds (in construction companies, restaurants, boutiques, etc.). Along with many of the crimes committed by his gang, De Pedis has also been linked to the disappearance of Emanuela Orlandi, whose case has been linked with the Pope John Paul II assassination attempt. Franco Interlenghi (29 October 1931 – 10 September 2015) was an Italian actor. He made his acting debut at 15 in Vittorio De Sica's 1946 Neorealist film '' Sciuscià''. Antonello Fassari (4 October 1952 – 5 April 2025) was an Italian actor and comedian. Life and career Antonello Fassari was born in Rome, where he practiced gymnastics at a competitive level until age 18. In the mid-1970s he attended the Silvio D'Amico National Academy of Dramatic Arts, and then Teatro Laboratorio in 1977 under director by Luca Ronconi, with whom he later worked in numerous stage plays. Luigi "Gigi" Angelillo (20 December 1939 – 21 July 2015) was an Italian actor, voice actor and theatre director. Biography Angelillo began an acting career on stage and screen in the 1960s and during the 1980s. He appeared in more than 20 films from 1966 to 2012 and he became well known to the Italian public as a voice dubber.
