The song led to him gaining recognition in late 2020 and early 2021, due to comparisons drawn between Locane and the late rapper Pop Smoke. The song is also the lead single from Dusty Locane's debut studio album ''Untamed'' (2021). The song also acted as the lead single for his debut extended play ''Rollin N Controllin'' (2022). Background The song originated from a freestyle rap which Dusty Locane performed over a beat produced by CP Beats that was originally meant for one of his friends. Following his release from jail in June 2020, Locane first recorded his verse on his phone, and then recorded the song in a makeshift studio.
