''Roe vs. Wade'' is a 1989 television film written by Alison Cross about the landmark 1973 United States Supreme Court decision ''Roe v. Wade''. It was directed by Gregory Hoblit and stars Holly Hunter and Amy Madigan. Plot Ellen Russell is a lonely, single, poorly educated Texan who finds herself pregnant with no means to support a child. To avoid giving up the child, she seeks an abortion. Denied an abortion in Texas, the young woman hires a novice lawyer to plead her case in the U.S. Supreme Court. Gregory Hoblit
Gregory King Hoblit (born November 27, 1944) is an American film director, television director and television producer. He is best known for directing the films '' Primal Fear'', '' Fallen'', ''Frequency'', ''Hart's War'', '' Fracture'', and ''Untraceable''. He has won nine Primetime Emmy Awards for directing and producing ''Hill Street Blues'', '' NYPD Blue'', '' L.A. Law'', ''Hooperman'' and the television film '' Roe vs. Wade''. Hoblit was born in Abilene, Texas, the son of Elizabeth Hubbard King and Harold Foster Hoblit, an FBI agent. Much of Hoblit's work is oriented towards police, attorneys and legal cases. Maggie Baird
Maggie May Baird (born ) is an American actress, screenwriter, and former theater troupe teacher. Baird grew up in Colorado performing music, and studied theater and dance at the University of Utah, before moving to New York City, where she performed on Broadway theatre, Broadway. She made her television debut in 1981 in the soap opera ''Another World (TV series), Another World'' and her film debut in the 1989 feature ''An Innocent Man (film), An Innocent Man''. The category was originally called Outstanding Drama or Comedy Special. 35 mm film is a film gauge used in filmmaking, and the film standard. In motion pictures that record on film, 35 mm is the most commonly used gauge. The name of the gauge is not a direct measurement, and refers to the nominal width of the 35 mm format photographic film, which consists of strips wide. The standard image exposure length on 35 mm for movies ("single-frame" format) is four perforations per frame along both edges, which results in 16 frames per foot of film. A variety of largely proprietary gauges were devised for the numerous camera and projection systems being developed independently in the late 19th century and early 20th century, as well as a variety of film feeding systems.
