Rodden is an unincorporated community located in Elizabeth Township, Jo Daviess County, Illinois, United States. History Several markers still exist from the town's past, including roads and structures. Rodden Road, which intersects with U.S. Route 20, is still in use and can be found just east of the nearby Eagle Ridge Resort & Spa. Beth Rodden (born April 5, 1980) is an American rock climber known for her ascents of hard single-pitch traditional climbing routes. She was the youngest woman to climb and is one of the only women in the world to have redpointed a traditional climbing graded climb. Rodden and fellow climber Tommy Caldwell were partners from 2000 to 2010, during which time they completed the second free ascent of '' The Nose''. In 2008, Rodden made the first ascent of ''Meltdown'', one of the hardest traditional climbs in the world and the first time in history that a female climber matched the peak of the highest climbing grades. Climbing career Rodden started climbing in 1995 at The Rocknasium, a local climbing gym in Davis, California. Bradley Paul Rodden (born 29 January 1989) is a New Zealand cricketer. He has played first-class cricket and limited overs cricket for Otago and Auckland. Brad Rodden was born at Christchurch in 1989. Lois Rodden (22 May 1928 - 5 June 2003) was an American astrologer and astrological data collector, known primarily as the founder of Astrodatabank. She was a pioneer in raising awareness of the sourcing of data being foundational in the credibility of astrology. Early life Lois was born Lois Mae Fast on May 22, 1928, at 12:22 am MST (rectified by her) in Lang, Saskatchewan, Canada. Rodden's study of astrology with the Church of Light, began in 1962 when she moved to Los Angeles. Career She sold her first astrology article in February, 1968, and in September, 1968, was invited to become a charter member of Professional Astrologers Inc. Michael James Rodden (April 24, 1891 – January 11, 1978) was a Canadian sports journalist, National Hockey League referee, and Canadian football coach, and was the first person elected to both the Hockey Hall of Fame (1962) and the Canadian Football Hall of Fame (1964). He was an older brother of ice hockey player Eddie Rodden. Biography Born in Mattawa, Ontario, Rodden officiated in 1,187 National Hockey League games.
