Rock 'n Roll Records
Rock 'n Roll Records was a subsidiary record label under Scotti Brothers Records (also known as Scotti Bros. Records), which was a California-based record label founded by Tony Scotti, Tony and Ben Scotti. The label is most noted for helping to launch the career of parodist "Weird Al" Yankovic. Other artists on the label included Felony (band), Felony and Hisao Shinagawa, among other novelty, rock, pop, and new wave bands and artists. Rock n' Roll's catalogue now belong to Volcano Entertainment, a division of Sony Music. Scotti Brothers Records
Scotti Brothers Records (typically spelled Scotti Bros. Records) was a California-based record label founded by Tony and Ben Scotti in 1974. Their first success was releasing singles and albums from teen pop star Leif Garrett. They later helped launch the careers of David Hallyday, Felony, Survivor, and "Weird Al" Yankovic (the latter under their Rock 'n' Roll banner). They also signed James Brown to a recording contract in the mid-1980s as well as the UK act Flag featuring David Cairns from Secret Affair and Archie Brown. Tommy Puett released his only album ''Life Goes On'' in 1990 under Scotti Brothers Records. The label, as well as the Scotti brothers themselves, ran an independent motion picture production company Scotti Bros. Anthony Joseph Scotti (born December 22, 1939) is an American actor, television and film producer, and co-founder of Scotti Brothers Records. He is married to French singer Sylvie Vartan. Early life Scotti and his brother Ben both played football for the University of Maryland. Career Acting Born in Newark, New Jersey, Scotti began his career as an actor, portraying Sharon Tate's love interest, Tony Polar, in the 1967 film, '' Valley of the Dolls''. For his role in ''Valley'', Scotti was required to sing and performed the song "Come Live With Me" in the film and on the film's soundtrack. Ben Scotti
Benjamin Joseph Scotti (born June 9, 1937) is a former American football defensive back in the National Football League. A graduate of the University of Maryland (1959), Scotti played for the Washington Redskins (1959–1961), the Philadelphia Eagles (1962–1963), and the San Francisco 49ers (1964). In late November 1963, Scotti received brief national attention when he precipitated a fight with teammate John Mellekas that sent Mellekas to the hospital. Felony was an American new wave and rock band formed in Los Angeles, California, in the early 1970s by brothers Jeffrey Scott Spry (Lead Vocals), Joseph Anthony Spry (Guitars and Vocals), brothers Danny Sands (Piano and Keyboards) and Steve Sands (Sound Engineer). Volcano Entertainment (sometimes referred to as Volcano Records) was an American all-round music record label founded in 1996 which released albums by Tool, 311, Size 14, Survivor and "Weird Al" Yankovic. (The latter two were former Scotti Bros. Records artists and the only artists retained from the label.) The Volcano Records catalog is owned by RCA Records, a division of Sony Music Entertainment.
