''Rock 'n' Roll Revival'' is the eighth studio album by the Canadian rock band Loverboy. The album features nine classic Loverboy songs re-recorded for the album by the current lineup, as well as three new songs. The three new songs were recorded with Bob Rock at Bryan Adams' Warehouse Studio in Vancouver, BC. Loverboy is a Canadian Rock music, rock band formed in Calgary, Alberta in 1979. Loverboy's hit singles, particularly "Turn Me Loose (Loverboy song), Turn Me Loose" and "Working for the Weekend", have become arena rock staples and are still heard on many classic rock and classic hits radio stations across Canada and the United States. "Working for the Weekend" is a song by Canadian rock band Loverboy from their second studio album, '' Get Lucky'' (1981). It was written by guitarist Paul Dean, vocalist Mike Reno, and drummer Matt Frenette and produced by Bruce Fairbairn and Dean. The song was released as the lead single from the album in 1981 and reached number 29 on the US ''Billboard'' Hot 100 chart, as well as number two on ''Billboard''s Rock Top Tracks chart in February 1982. "Working for the Weekend" was ranked at number 100 on VH1's "100 Greatest Songs of the 80s". Background The song originated when guitarist Paul Dean was out walking one Wednesday afternoon, looking for inspiration in his songwriting. Ken Sinnaeve
Kenneth "Spider" Sinnaeve (born May 2, 1954) is a Canadian musician. He was a founding member of the popular Canadian band Streetheart, and since 2001 has been a member of Loverboy, replacing late bassist Scott Smith. Sinnaeve has also contributed to many albums and played live performances with George McCrae, Helix, Tom Cochrane & Red Rider, Kim Mitchell, The Partland Brothers, Lee Aaron, and The Guess Who. Bruce Earl Fairbairn (December 30, 1949 – May 17, 1999) was a Canadian record producer. He was active as a producer from 1976 to 1999, and is considered one of the best of his era. His most successful productions are '' Slippery When Wet'' and ''New Jersey'' by Bon Jovi, '' Permanent Vacation'', ''Pump'', and ''Get a Grip'' by Aerosmith, '' The Razors Edge'' by AC/DC, and ''Balance'' by Van Halen, each of which sold at least three million copies. He was originally a trumpet player, then started a career as a record producer for Canadian rock band Prism. Fairbairn won the Canadian music industry Producer of the Year Juno Award three times. Donald Scott Smith (13 February 1955 – 30 November 2000) was a Canadian musician and the bassist for Canadian rock band Loverboy, an award-winning band which sold millions of records and scored several hit songs in the 1980s before a break up and reunion in the 1990s.(11 January 2001).
