Rockness
RockNess was an annual music festival which took place in Scotland at Clune Farm, Dores, on the banks of Loch Ness in the Scottish Highlands. The festival was known as "the most beautiful festival in the world" and "the only festival with its own monster" due to its scenic location at Loch Ness which is the alleged home of the cryptozoological Loch Ness Monster. Despite the festival's name, it was not a rock festival exclusively, often showcasing dance, electronic, and hip-hop music. The inaugural Rockness festival took place on 24 June 2006. In June 2008, AEG took over as the main promoter of the festival. The festival grew in size each year until its final edition in 2013. RockNess 2006 was the first RockNess festival to take place. Fatboy Slim took his 'Brighton Beach Party' to the shores of Loch Ness to create the first festival which was held on Saturday 24 June 2006. All of the 20,000 tickets were sold at price of £32.50. The festival had two stages, a main stage and big top, which were active throughout the day. It started at midday and both stages hosted different dance acts about every hour and a half. Norman Quentin Cook (born Quentin Leo Cook, 31 July 1963), also known as Fatboy Slim, is an English musician and DJ who helped popularise the big beat genre in the 1990s. His music makes extensive use of Sampling (music), samples from eclectic genres, combined with pop structures, processed rhythms and "sloganistic" vocals. In the 1980s, Cook was the bassist for the indie rock band the Housemartins, who achieved a UK number-one single with their cover of "Caravan of Love". After the Housemartins split, Cook moved to Brighton to pursue dance music. He formed the electronic group Beats International, who produced the number-one single "Dub Be Good to Me" in 1990, and played in the band Freak Power. Stanton Warriors
Stanton Warriors are a British DJ and production duo consisting of Dominic Butler and Mark Yardley. Originally from the West Country, the duo have performed internationally with their infamous Stanton Sessions parties in Europe, North America, Asia and Australia. Their name was taken from a manhole cover, made by Stanton Ironworks. Stanton record player needles are popular with DJs for their ability to scratch records. The Stanton Warriors' third mix album was released in the UK on 27 October 2008, entitled ''Stanton Session Vol. 3'', which is their best-seller to date, and received 5 out of 5 from iDJ. Manic Street Preachers, also known simply as the Manics, are a Wales, Welsh Rock music, rock band formed in Blackwood, Caerphilly, in 1986. The band consists of Nicky Wire (bass guitar, lyrics) and cousins James Dean Bradfield (lead vocals, lead guitar) and Sean Moore (musician), Sean Moore (drums, percussion, soundscapes). Groove Armada are an English electronic music duo, composed of Andy Cato and Tom Findlay. They achieved chart success with their singles " At the River", " I See You Baby" and " Superstylin'". Myles MacInnes (born 10 May 1978), better known by his stage name Mylo, is a Scottish electronic musician and record producer.
