Roberto Manuel Hernández Rodríguez (born November 11, 1964) is a Puerto Rican former professional baseball right-handed relief pitcher. His best Major League Baseball (MLB) seasons came with the Chicago White Sox and Tampa Bay Devil Rays, in the 1990s. In all, Hernández played for 10 different big league teams, over 17 seasons. Early life Roberto Manuel Hernández was born November 11, 1964, in Puerto Rico. His father moved his family to the Dominican Republic where his father was originally from. At age 2, his family moved again to New York City. Hernández attended the Chelsea Vocational School in Manhattan where he played baseball for three years. During his junior year of high school, he and his brother were forced to drop out due to the fact that is mother was sick and his father was laid off from his job. Roberto Carlos Hernández Rodríguez (born 30 March 1994) is a Uruguayan footballer who plays as a centre-back for Rentistas. Club career Born in Montevideo, Uruguay, Hernández started his career with Miramar Misiones. From 2015 to 2017 he played for Juventud Las Piedras and Villa Española. In 2018, he moved abroad and signed with Barnechea in the Primera B de Chile. The next year, he returned to Uruguay and rejoined Juventud Las Piedras. In the first half of 2020, he played for Tacuarembó. Roberto Hernández Heredia (born August 30, 1980) is a People of the Dominican Republic, Dominican former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Cleveland Indians, Tampa Bay Rays, Philadelphia Phillies, Los Angeles Dodgers, Houston Astros, and Atlanta Braves. Hernández was a regular part of the Indians' starting pitcher, starting rotation for six years under the name of Fausto Carmona, which he had used to obtain a Visa (document), visa to pitch in the United States. After Hernández’s true name and age were revealed (he was three years older than he claimed), Hernández missed much of the 2012 season due to lack of a valid visa, followed by a suspension from MLB for identity fraud. He returned to the league in 2013 with the Tampa Bay Rays.
