Sir Robert Wright (c. 1634 – 1689) was an English judge and Lord Chief Justice of England and Wales, Chief Justice of the King's Bench 1687–89. Early life Wright was the son of Jermyn Wright of Wangford in Suffolk, by his wife Anne, daughter of Richard Batchcroft of Bexwell in Norfolk. He was descended from a family long seated at Kilverstone Hall, Kilverstone, also known as Kelverstone, in Norfolk, and was educated at the free school at Thetford. He was admitted to Caius College, Cambridge on 1 April 1651. Early legal career He entered Lincoln's Inn on 14 June 1654, and after being called to the bar went the Norfolk circuit. Robert Wright is an American college basketball player for the BYU Cougars of the Big 12 Conference. Early life and high school During his high school career, Wright played at Saints Neumann Goretti High School for his first three years before transferring to Montverde Academy. As a junior, he averaged 22.2 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.0 assists and 2.4 steals per game and was named the 2023 Pennsylvania Gatorade Player of the year. Coming out of high school, Wright was rated as a four-star recruit and committed to play college basketball for the Baylor Bears over other schools such as Miami, Syracuse, Maryland, Seton Hall, Georgetown, and Louisville. William Robert Wright (May 20, 1935 – January 13, 2012) was an American attorney, political candidate, and author. Early life and education Wright was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Ralph Bassett Wright and Afton Middlemiss Wright. He graduated from East High School in 1953, and then served in the Swiss Austrian Mission of the LDS Church from 1955 to 1958. Returning home to the University of Utah, he was elected student body vice president and received a Bachelor of Science in Geology in 1960, and a J.D. in 1963. Robert Alexander Wright (8 August 1863 – 6 December 1947) was the Mayor of Wellington from 1921 to 1925, and a New Zealand politician of the Reform Party. Robert Lee Rayford (February 3, 1953 – May 15, 1969), sometimes identified as Robert R. due to his age, was an American teenager from Missouri who has been suggested to represent the earliest confirmed case of HIV/AIDS in North America. This is based on evidence published in 1988 in which the authors claimed that medical evidence indicated that he was "infected with a virus closely related or identical to human immunodeficiency virus type 1." Rayford died of pneumonia, but his other symptoms baffled the doctors who treated him. A study published in 1988 reported the detection of antibodies against HIV. Results of testing for HIV genetic material were reported at a scientific conference in Australia in 1999. However, the data has never been published in a peer-reviewed medical or scientific journal. Early life Wright was born at Narborough, near Chestertown, Maryland, and attended the Kent Free School (later Washington College) of Chestertown. He studied law, was admitted to the bar in 1773, and commenced practice in Chestertown. Career He served in the Maryland militia during the American Revolutionary War as private, lieutenant, and later as captain. Rob Wright (sometimes known as Mr. Wrong; born 12 March 1954) is a Canadian musician and songwriter best known as the bassist, lead vocalist and occasional guitarist of the progressive punk rock band Nomeansno, as well as the bassist of the pop punk band The Hanson Brothers. Wright was born in Montreal, Quebec, and currently resides in Vancouver, British Columbia. In addition to NoMeansno and The Hanson Brothers, both of which feature his brother John and guitarist Tom Holliston, Wright has composed and recorded an occasional solo act called Mr. Wrong where he sings and plays bass while performing in an authoritarian priest outfit.
