Robert Watt (officer Of Arms)
Robert Douglas Watt (born 1945) is a former Canadian museum curator and officer of arms who served as the first Chief Herald of Canada. He was appointed at the foundation of the Canadian Heraldic Authority in 1988, and he was succeeded by Claire Boudreau in 2007. Life and career Watt was born in Picton, Ontario, in 1945. He received a Bachelor of Arts in 1967 and a Master of Arts in 1968 from Carleton University. From 1969 to 1970, he was an archivist for the Public Archives of Canada. From 1971 to 1973, he was the Vancouver City Archivist. In 1973, he was appointed as Curator of History at the Vancouver Centennial Museum (now the Vancouver Museum). He became Chief Curator in 1977 and was Director from 1980 to 1988. He was appointed as the first Chief Herald of Canada in 1988, and he served in that position until 2007. The International Congress of Genealogical and Heraldic Sciences is a biennial conference for topics of heraldic and genealogical interest. The Congress convenes scholars and other interested persons from Europe and throughout the world. Vancouver Museum
The Museum of Vancouver (MOV) (formerly the Vancouver Museum and prior to that the Centennial Museum) is a civic history museum located in Vanier Park, Vancouver, British Columbia. The MOV is the largest civic museum in Canada and the oldest museum in Vancouver. The museum was founded in 1894 and went through a number of iterations before being rebranded as the Museum of Vancouver in 2009. The Royal Heraldry Society of Canada (RHSC; ) is a Canadian organization that promotes interest in heraldry in Canada. It was founded in 1966 and granted royal patronage in 2002. History The society was established in October 1966, as the Heraldry Society of Canada, by a group of heraldic enthusiasts from Ottawa under the leadership of Alan Beddoe. The organizing meeting occurred at Ottawa's Beacon Arms Hotel. In 2002, royal patronage was extended to the society, and its name changed to the Royal Heraldry Society of Canada. Susan Point (born 1952) is a Musqueam Indian Band, Musqueam Coast Salish peoples, Coast Salish artist from Canada, who works in the Coast Salish art, Coast Salish tradition. The Citizenship Commission is an administrative tribunal within Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). The overall mandate of the Commission is to assess referred applications to ensure they meet the physical-presence requirements for Canadian citizenship; and to facilitate citizenship ceremonies to administer Oaths of Citizenship for successful applicants. The Commission consists of independent decision-makers called citizenship judges—officials who fulfill the mandate of the Citizenship Commission. History This unit has a long and distinguished history that lives up to the medical corps tradition of being faithful in adversity.
