Robert Thomas (ice Hockey)
Robert Thomas (born July 2, 1999) is a Canadians, Canadian professional ice hockey Centre (ice hockey), centre and Captain (ice hockey)#Alternate captains, alternate captain for the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League (NHL). A native of Aurora, Ontario, Thomas played minor hockey, Bantam and AAA ice hockey with the York Simcoe Express before beginning his major junior ice hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He spent three seasons in the OHL with the London Knights and Hamilton Bulldogs. While with the Knights, Thomas won the 2016 Memorial Cup as a rookie and was drafted in the first round, 20th overall, by the Blues in the 2017 NHL entry draft. Hamilton Bulldogs
The Hamilton Bulldogs were a Canadian major junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) that began to play in the 2015–16 season. Based in Hamilton, Ontario, the Bulldogs played home games at FirstOntario Centre. They were purchased by owner Michael Andlauer in March 2015 and relocated to Hamilton after 34 years in Belleville, Ontario, where they were known as the Belleville Bulls, Bulls. The Bulldogs won J. Ross Robertson Cup, OHL championships in 2018 and 2022. The Bulldogs replaced the American Hockey League Hamilton Bulldogs (AHL), team of the same name, also formerly owned by Andlauer. Bowie William Horvat (born April 5, 1995) is a Canadian professional ice hockey Centre (ice hockey), centre and Captain (ice hockey)#Alternate captains, alternate captain for the New York Islanders of the National Hockey League (NHL). 2018 Memorial Cup
The 2018 Memorial Cup (branded as the 2018 Mastercard Memorial Cup for sponsorship reasons) was a four-team, round-robin format tournament that was held at Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan from May 18–27, 2018. It was the 100th Memorial Cup championship of junior ice hockey, and determined the champion of the Canadian Hockey League (CHL). The CHL chose to allow all three of its constituent leagues to bid for hosting the 100th Memorial Cup, instead of the usual rotation between its leagues. The Regina Pats won the right to host the tournament, over bids from the Hamilton Bulldogs and the Oshawa Generals. The Memorial Cup honours all Canadian military personnel killed in combat, and was founded in the wake of World War I in 1919. The Wayne Gretzky 99 Award is awarded annually to the most valuable player in the Ontario Hockey League playoffs. It was first awarded in 1999, and is named for Wayne Gretzky Wayne Douglas Gretzky ( ; born January 26, 1961) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey player and former head coach. Peterborough Petes
The Peterborough Petes are a junior ice hockey team in the Ontario Hockey League. The team has played at the Peterborough Memorial Centre in Peterborough, Ontario, Canada, since 1956, and is the oldest continuously operating team in the league. History The Petes were formed on October 1, 1956, when the Kitchener Canucks relocated to Peterborough after the 1955–56 season. They also became a sponsored junior team for the Montreal Canadiens of the NHL. The Petes played their first game on November 4, 1956, and won their first game on November 8, 1956. Evan Bouchard
Evan Bouchard (born October 20, 1999) is a Canadian professional ice hockey defenceman for the Edmonton Oilers of the National Hockey League (NHL). Bouchard was selected 10th overall by the Oilers in the 2018 NHL entry draft and is best known for his heavy slap shot (known as "the Bouch Bomb") from the blue line. Clifford Pu (born June 3, 1998) is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward who is currently a player for Sheffield Steelers of the Elite Ice Hockey League (EIHL). He was selected 69th overall in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft by the Buffalo Sabres. Playing career Youth Pu played at the AAA hockey level since the Atom age group. The 2017–18 OHL season was the 38th season of the Ontario Hockey League, in which twenty teams played 68 games each according to the regular season schedule, from September 21, 2017 to March 18, 2018. The Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds accomplished a streak of 23 consecutive wins between October 27, 2017 and January 4, 2018. The Hamilton Bulldogs won the J. ''The London Free Press'' is a daily newspaper based in London, Ontario, Canada. It has the largest circulation of any newspaper in Southwestern Ontario. The NHL Central Scouting Services (CSS) is a department within the National Hockey League (NHL) that ranks prospects for the NHL entry draft at specific times during the hockey season. Players are ranked based on how well they will translate to the professional game in the NHL. It was founded by hockey executive Jack Button in 1975, to establish a centralized database of NHL prospects. Button served as the director until 1979. Its current director is Dan Marr. The Department consists of staff at the NHL Offices in Toronto, along with eight full-time scouts, and fifteen part-time scouts throughout North America. To report on prospects playing in Europe, the NHL employs the services of Göran Stubb and his staff of six scouts at European Scouting Services based in Finland. Alex Formenton
Alex Formenton (born September 13, 1999) is a Canadian former professional ice hockey left winger who played for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL) and HC Ambrì-Piotta of the Swiss National League. He won a gold medal with Canada's junior team at the 2018 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships. He was selected by the Senators in the second round of the 2017 NHL entry draft. He also won the 2022 Spengler Cup with HC Ambrì-Piotta. Formenton was reported to have moved on from professional hockey in 2025.
