Robert Richardson (RAAF Officer)
Air vice marshal (Australia), Air Vice Marshal Robert Victor Richardson, (born 13 May 1941) is a retired senior commander of the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). He was the Air Officer Commanding Air Force Training Group RAAF, Training Command 1992 to 1993, and Deputy Chief of Air Force (Australia), Deputy Chief of Air Force in 1997. Early life and career Richardson was born in Melbourne, Victoria, on 13 May 1941, and joined the RAAF in 1961. He completed pilots course and was posted to No. 77 Squadron RAAF, No. 77 Squadron to fly the CAC Sabre, Avon Sabre in Malaysia, Singapore and North Borneo. He was posted to Thailand and flew the CAC Sabre, Avon Sabre at No. 79 Squadron RAAF, No. 79 Squadron. After instructor training, Richardson was posted to Basic Flying Training School and instructed from 1966 to 1967. McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet
The McDonnell Douglas F/A-18 Hornet is an all-weather, twin-engine, supersonic, carrier-capable, multirole combat aircraft, designed as both a fighter and attack aircraft (hence the F/A designation). Designed by McDonnell Douglas (now part of Boeing) and Northrop (now part of Northrop Grumman), the F/A-18 was derived from the latter's YF-17 in the 1970s for use by the United States Navy and Marine Corps. Air Marshal Errol John McCormack AO (born 30 August 1941) is a retired senior commander in the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF), who served as Chief of Air Force from May 1998 to June 2001. Early life McCormack was born in Bundaberg, Queensland, on 30 August 1941 to Horace McCormack and his wife Ida (née Wooldridge). He was educated at Bundaberg State High School. Service career McCormack was commissioned in 1963 and served in Malaysia and Singapore during the Indonesia–Malaysia confrontation, and subsequently took part in the Vietnam War. RAAF Base Edinburgh is a Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) military airbase located in Edinburgh approximately north of Adelaide, South Australia, Australia and forms part of the Edinburgh Defence Precinct.
