Robert Gibson (born February 2, 1986) is a Canadian rower. In 2004, he was the Canadian Indoor Rowing Champion and became the Canadian High School Rowing champion in the Mens 2- with partner Will Crothers. He also earned a scholarship to attend the University of Washington and won a bronze medal at the Junior World Rowing Championships in the Mens coxed 4+. He was officially named as the alternate to the 2008, Beijing Olympics Gold Medal Winning Mens 8+. Kingston, Ontario
Kingston is a city in Ontario, Canada, on the northeastern end of Lake Ontario. It is at the beginning of the St. Lawrence River and at the mouth of the Cataraqui River, the south end of the Rideau Canal. Gabriel Bergen
Gabriel "Gabe" Bergen (born 6 July 1982 in Dawson Creek) is a Canadian rower. Bergen won a silver medal as part of the men's eights for Canada at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London. He has also won one medal of every colour at the World Championships including being champion in the coxed pair in 2008 and a silver and a bronze in the eights in 2009 and 2011 respectively. Career Bergen began his rowing career in 2005 and began his competitive career as part of the men's eights in 2006. His first World Championship was as a world title when he won the gold in the coxed pair at the 2008 World Rowing Championships with partner James Dunaway and cox Mark Laidlaw. He found further successes at the Worlds except this time as part of the eights. Bergen failed to win gold but did succeed in winning a silver in 2009 and a bronze in 2011. Canada competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 5 to August 21, 2016. Since the nation's debut in 1900, Canadian athletes had appeared in every edition of the Summer Olympic Games, with the exception of the 1980 Summer Olympics in Moscow because of the country's support for the United States-led boycott. The chef de mission was Curt Harnett, appointed in April 2016 after Jean-Luc Brassard, the original chef de mission, resigned his position. A total of 314 athletes, 128 men and 186 women over 27 sports (all of the Olympic sports except handball), represented the country, an increase of 37 athletes from 2012. Brian Price (rowing)
Brian S. Price (born February 19, 1976) has been the Canadian coxswain of the men's eight since 2001. He was born in Belleville, Ontario. Price began rowing on the National Team in 1998 after graduating from Seneca College with a Civil Engineering Technology diploma. The first national team crew that he made was the 1998 development lightweight eight. He made the move to the heavyweight men's team in 1999 and competed at the Pan Am Games in Winnipeg. Price has competed at World Championships in the Eight from 2001 to 2008, 2011 and has earned three World Championship victories ('02,'03,'07) along with a bronze medal most recently in 2011. He has doubled up in the Eight and Coxed Pair four times and medaled each time with a bronze. Conlin McCabe
Conlin McCabe (born August 20, 1990) is a Canadian rower. He won a silver medal at the 2012 Olympic games and two gold medals at the 2015 Pan American Games. Born in Brockville, Ontario, McCabe rowed for the University of Washington from 2009 to 2013 (after taking a year off for the Olympics), helping the Huskies win three national championships. McCabe majored in Geography while at Washington. He also came in first at the 2011 CRASH-B Sprints, a 2000-metre indoor rowing race with a time of 5:48.0. This made McCabe the first Canadian to ever win a CRASH-B competition in the Men's Open category. McCabe's international racing career started at the World Rowing Junior Championships. Malcolm Howard (born February 7, 1983) is a Canadian rower. He was born in Victoria, British Columbia and graduated from Brentwood College School (Mill Bay, British Columbia) in 2001. While at Brentwood he joined Canada's junior national team. As part of the national team, Howard won three World Rowing Championships medals including a silver in 2004 in the men's coxed fours, and a gold in 2007 in the men's eights. He won a gold medal at the 2008 Summer Olympics in the men's eights with Andrew Byrnes, Kyle Hamilton, Adam Kreek, Kevin Light, Ben Rutledge, Dominic Sieterle, Jake Wetzel and cox Brian Price.
