Robert Garcia (California Assemblymember)
Robert Garcia is an American politician serving in the California State Assembly from the 50th district since December 2, 2024. Prior to his election to the State Assembly, he was a trustee of the Etiwanda School Board from 2016 until 2024. Political career In 2014, Garcia ran for the Etiwanda School District Board of Trustees, challenging its three incumbents, but did not win the election. Two years later, in 2016, two of the five seats on the board were up for election. Garcia ran again, this time against incumbents David Long and Cathline Fort. In the election, he secured second place, defeating Fort, while Long retained his seat. In 2024, Eloise Reyes announced her candidacy for the California State Senate, creating an open seat in the Assembly. Garcia declared his run to succeed her and received endorsements from Reyes and several other elected officials. California's 50th State Assembly District
California's 50th State Assembly district is one of 80 California State Assembly districts. It is currently represented by Democrat Robert Garcia of Rancho Cucamonga. District profile Prior to 2022, the district encompassed the area between the Pacific Ocean and the Santa Monica Mountains, along with a large section of Central Los Angeles. The district was heavily white and included the Malibu shoreline and much of Hollywood. The district currently consists of portions of San Bernardino County, including the whole Cities of Loma Linda and Colton, and portions of the Cities of San Bernardino, Redlands, Rialto, Rancho Cucamonga, Fontana, and Ontario. Eloise Gómez Reyes (born January 27, 1956) is an American politician who is a member of the California State Senate since 2024, representing the 29th district. A member of the Democratic Party, she formerly served as the Majority Leader of the California State Assembly and represented the 50th Assembly district, encompassing urban parts of southwestern San Bernardino County, including the cities of Rialto, Colton, and Fontana. Fontana is a city in San Bernardino County, California, United States. Founded by Azariel Blanchard Miller in 1913, it remained essentially rural until World War II, when entrepreneur Henry J.
