Robert Clarke
Robert Irby Clarke (June 1, 1920 – June 11, 2005) was an American actor best known for his cult classic science fiction films of the 1950s. In succeeding decades he appeared in more conventional television, and in ''The King Family Show'', a variety show based on the family of which his wife Alyce King Clarke was a member. Early life Clarke was born and raised in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.He attended Kemper Military School where he planned a military career, but asthma prevented his service in World War II. He enrolled in the University of Oklahoma and then the University of Wisconsin, where he began acting. Career After screen tests at 20th Century-Fox and Columbia Pictures, Clarke landed a berth as a contract player at RKO Radio Pictures. The Philadelphia Flyers are a professional ice hockey team based in Philadelphia. They are members of the Metropolitan Division of the National Hockey League's (NHL) Eastern Conference. The Flyers were founded in 1967 as one of six expansion teams, increasing the size of the NHL at that time to 12 teams. Since the franchise was established, the team has won the Stanley Cup two times as league champions in 1974 and 1975, the Clarence S. Bob Clarke Trophy
The Bob Clarke Trophy is awarded annually to the player who leads the Western Hockey League in points scoring during the regular season. In both years Bobby Clarke, Bob "Bobby" Clarke played in the WHL, he captured the League scoring title. In 1968–69 WCHL season, 1968–69, Clarke's Flin Flon Bombers captured the League Championship. His NHL career spanned 15 seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers, in which time he captained the team to a pair of Stanley Cups. He was awarded the Hart Trophy as the NHL's MVP three times, the Masterton Trophy and the Selke Trophy once each, and was also named an All-Star four times. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1987. Robert Clarke & Company was a book publishing company and bookseller in Cincinnati, Ohio, from 1858 to 1909. After 1894, it was known as The Robert Clarke Company. It published literary and historical works. Leadership Robert Clarke was born May 1, 1829, at Annan, Dumfrieshire, Scotland, and came with his parents to Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1840. He was educated at public schools and Woodward College. He was a bookkeeper for William Hanna, and then became a proprietor of a second-hand bookstore near the corner of 6th and Walnut St. In 1858, in partnership with John W. Dale and Roderick D. Robert Clarke is a Northern Irish-American cancer researcher and academic administrator. He is the executive director of The Hormel Institute and a professor of biochemistry, molecular biology and biophysics at the University of Minnesota, and an adjunct professor of oncology at Georgetown University. With his work focused on breast cancer research, Clarke studies how hormones (endogenous and exogenous) and related factors affect breast cancer. He has authored over 360 publications, and he has 5 patents awarded. His research focuses on understanding the endocrine responsiveness of breast cells and the likelihood that breast tumors will respond to specific systemic therapies. His laboratory also studies drug resistance and the role of cell-cell communication in affecting emergence from dormancy and responsiveness to endocrine therapies in breast tumors that express estrogen receptors. Bob Clarke (born in Scarborough in 1964) is an English archaeologist and historian. He gained a PhD at Exeter and is published widely. Current themes of research include the use of selected space to enact organised events, and the landscape archaeology of defence. Archaeological career Clarke is a visiting tutor in archaeology at the University of Bath. He was educated in archaeology under professor Mick Aston and Julian Richards, followed by a period at Westminster Institute of Education, Oxford where he obtained his honours degree in post-compulsory education. Clarke held the post of QinetiQ Archaeologist at Boscombe Down between 1996 and 2008; he returned to the post in July 2013. Robert Connell Clarke (born 1953) is an American agronomist and ethnobotanist, specialized in the study of the cannabis plant. He has often been credited for having taken part in many developments of the licit hemp and cannabis sectors in the United States and the Netherlands since the 1980s. Biography Clarke graduated in 1977 from the University of California Santa Cruz. Robert Clarke (1819 – 11 December 1877) was an architect based in Nottingham. History Born in 1819, Robert Clarke was the son of Mr. Clarke of ''Stoney and Clarke''. He married Frances Sympson at St Martin’s Church, Lincoln, on 12 May 1841. He studied architecture under William Adams Nicholson in Lincoln. He went into a partnership with Edmund Francis Law in Northampton in 1848. This partnership was short-lived, and dissolved on 31 July 1849. In 1852, he established himself as an independent architect back in Nottingham. He set up in business in Nottingham with offices in Grosvenor Place, Parliament Street. In 1854 he moved to Shakespere Street, opposite Angelo Terrace. His son, Robert Charles Clarke (1843-16 February 1904) joined his father to form Robert Clarke & Son.
