Robert Campbell (Nova Scotia Politician)
Robert Campbell (1718 – January 3, 1775) was a merchant and political figure in Nova Scotia. He was a member of the 1st General Assembly of Nova Scotia and represented Halifax County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1770 to 1775. Robert McFaul Campbell (13 September 1956 – 15 November 2016) was a Northern Irish international footballer who played as a centre forward. Club career Born in Belfast, Campbell started his career at Aston Villa, making his professional debut in April 1974. He failed to establish himself in the first team, making 10 league appearances for the club before being sold to Huddersfield Town in May 1975. He joined Sheffield United in 1977, but left the club after just one season. He briefly returned to Huddersfield Town for a second spell before signing for Halifax Town. In December 1979, he joined Bradford City. He made over 300 appearances for the club, and became the club's all-time leading goalscorer with a total of 143 goals. Robert George Campbell (23 April 1937 – 6 November 2015) was an English professional football player and later manager. Playing career Campbell began his career with then- Second Division side Liverpool in 1958, making his debut against Sheffield United on 15 September. He won England Youth international caps during his three year stint at Anfield. Campbell left Liverpool in the summer of 1961, joining non-league side Wigan, before returning to the football league by joining Third Division side Portsmouth in November, who went on the win the league that season. During his first two seasons at Portsmouth, his playing time was limited due to injuries, and was mostly playing for the reserve side. Campbell became a regular in Portsmouth's squad in his third season, when he played 30 games and scored twice. Robert Gordon Campbell (27 January 1883 – 31 May 1942) was a Scottish footballer who played with Celtic and Rangers, as well as Queen's Park, Kilmarnock and Ayr United. Career In January 1906 Campbell joined Rangers from Celtic to help ease an injury crisis at Ibrox, and would go on to spend the best part of nine years at the club. He is one of a very small group to transfer directly between the Glasgow rivals, having only been at Celtic for only seven months after leaving Queen's Park in June 1905. He made his Rangers debut against Port Glasgow Athletic on 20 January 1906. He was a right back but in later years would convert to a forward. In the 1906–07 season, Campbell saw himself being played up front. His very first match in attack, a benefit match versus Morton, saw him score all seven of the goals in a 7–0 win. Robert Campbell (1882 – 13 March 1931) was a Scottish footballer who played for Partick Thistle, Rangers, Millwall Athletic and Bradford City. He was a full back who won the 1911 FA Cup with Bradford. Career Born in Lugar in 1882, Campbell started his football career with Partick Thistle, with whom he formed a partnership over several seasons with Andrew Wilson and won Scottish League XI and Glasgow FA representative honours, before moving to Rangers in January 1905 as emergency cover following the death of Nicol Smith. He moved to England and Millwall Athletic in the Southern League later that same year. He spent one season at Millwall, playing 28 games before moving to Division Two side Bradford City.
