Robert John Burke (born September 12, 1960) is an American actor known for his roles in '' RoboCop 3'' (1993), '' Tombstone'' (1993), and ''Thinner'' (1996). During the 2000s Burke became well known for his portrayal of Mickey Gavin on '' Rescue Me'' (2004–11), Bart Bass in '' Gossip Girl'' (2007–12), Ed Tucker in '' Law and Order: Special Victims Unit'' (2002–20), and a number of other film and television roles including Netflix ''Intrusion'' (2021). Robert Malachy Burke (1 March 1907 – 20 September 1998) was a noted Christian socialist and philanthropist. He was born into a landed Church of Ireland family at Ballydugan, Loughrea, County Galway. He was active (alongside his wife, Ann Grattan of Belfast) in a variety of organisations in the fields of community development, co-operativism, peace activism, religion, and politics. At Toghermore, Tuam (the birthplace of his mother, Ethel Maud Henry), where he came to live following his parents’ separation, he established an innovative co-operative farm. As a Labour Party representative, he sat on Galway County Council, but despite polling strongly in Galway East at a number of elections, he was not elected to the Dáil Éireann. He entered Seanad Éireann in 1948 through Agricultural Panel, but resigned his seat on 6 December 1950. Robert O'Hara Burke
Robert O'Hara Burke (6 May 1821c. 28 June 1861) was an Irish soldier and police officer who achieved fame as an Australian explorer. He was the leader of the ill-fated Burke and Wills expedition, which was the first expedition to cross Australia from south to north, finding a route across the continent from the settled areas of Victoria to the Gulf of Carpentaria. The expedition party was well equipped, but Burke was not experienced in bushcraft. A Royal Commission report conducted upon the failure of the expedition was a censure of Burke's judgement. Early years Burke was born in St Clerens, County Galway, Ireland in May 1821.
