Parker Robbins
The Hood (Parker Robbins) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer Brian K. Vaughan, and artists Kyle Hotz and Eric Powell, the character was introduced in his own self-titled limited series, which started with ''Hood'' #1 (July 2002). Robbins was originally a petty criminal, until an encounter with a Nisanti demon which he defeated and robbed of its hood and boots, gaining superpowers in the process, such as levitation and invisibility. As "the Hood", he's a well-known figure in the New York City criminal underworld, and eventually formed his own crime syndicate. Bettle Peak () is a peak, high, standing west of Bowers Piedmont Glacier and north of the Granite Knolls in Victoria Land. It was named by the United States Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names (US-ACAN) for James F. Bettle, a United States Antarctic Research Program meteorologist and scientific leader at McMurdo Station in 1962. Location Bettle Peak is the highest peak of a group of hills that lies to the east of Briggs Hill in the Royal Society Range. Robbins is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in Scott County, Tennessee. As of the 2010 census, its population is 287. It is concentrated along U.S. Route 27 between Huntsville and Elgin, in Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau region. The community is served by Robbins Elementary School. It is also home to Barton Chapel, a 1920s-era Gothic Revival church designed by noted architectural firm, Barber and McMurry. Robbins is a town in Moore County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 1,168 at the 2020 census. History The town now known as Robbins began in 1795 when gunsmith Alexander Kennedy and his family left Philadelphia to settle along Bear Creek. Kennedy set up a factory, which produced long rifles for American soldiers, near the site of the present-day Robbins water plant. The Kennedy Rifle Works continued in operation until 1838, and the place became known as Mechanics Hill. In 1891, the Durham and Charlotte Railroad connected Gulf in Chatham County to Troy in Montgomery County. The railroad reached Mechanics Hill around 1899. Railroad construction added many jobs and greatly increased the number of settlers.
