Rob Thompson (rugby Union)
Rob Thompson (born 29 August 1991) is a New Zealand rugby union player who currently plays centre for in New Zealand's domestic Mitre 10 Cup and the in the international Super Rugby competition. Early career Originally hailing from Manawatu, Thompson started out his rugby career playing club rugby in his home province for University while working as a storeman. After failing to be picked in the Manawatu Turbos ITM Cup squad in 2012, he headed south to try out for Canterbury's Colts side. His development continued in 2013 when he was selected for the Crusaders Knights squad during the first half of the year and the Canterbury ITM Cup team in the latter part. Senior career Although Thompson wasn't initially named in the squad for the 2013 ITM Cup, injuries and All Blacks call-ups meant that Thompson was promoted from the wider training group and went on to become a key player as the red and blacks were crowned ITM Cup Premiership champions. 2016 Mitre 10 Cup
The 2016 Mitre 10 Cup season was the eleventh season of New Zealand's provincial rugby union competition since it turned professional in 2006. The regular season began on August 18, when North Harbour hosted Counties Manukau. It involved the top fourteen rugby unions of New Zealand. For sponsorship reasons, the competition was known as the Mitre 10 Cup and it was the first season under the lead sponsor. The winner of the Championship, North Harbour was promoted to the Premiership, the seventh placed Premiership team, Hawke's Bay was relegated to the Championship. Format The Mitre 10 Cup standings were sorted by a competition points system. Four points were awarded to the winning team, a draw equaled two points, whilst a loss amounted to zero points. Ambrose Curtis
Ambrose Curtis (born 17 April 1992) is a New Zealand Rugby Union, rugby union player who currently plays as a Wing (rugby union), winger for in the Mitre 10 Cup. Career Curtis made his Wellington debut in 2012 against and went on to establish himself as a regular starter and try-scorer for the Lions over the next 2 seasons. Despite a substandard showing by his province in 2014 ITM Cup, 2014 in which they were relegated from the ITM Cup Premiership, Curtis's own form was strong. Curtis signed with in August 2015 on a week by week basis. In May 2018, it was announced that Curtis Ambrose had signed for Gallagher Premiership team Wasps. Declan O'Donnell is a New Zealand international rugby sevens player., International Rugby Board, 11 February 2011 He made his World Series debut in the 2010–11 season, and became an overnight sensation after he scored three tries for New Zealand during the final of the 2011 Wellington Sevens against England. The 2016 Super Rugby season was the 21st season of Super Rugby and the first season featuring an expanded 18-team format. It was also the first season that teams outside Australia, New Zealand and South Africa featured, with the Jaguares from Argentina and the Sunwolves from Japan taking part.
