Road racing is a North American term to describe motorsport racing held on a paved road surface. The races can be held on a race track, closed circuit—generally, a purpose-built racing facility—or on a street circuit that uses temporarily closed public roads. The objective is to complete a set number of laps in the least amount of time, or to accumulate the most circuit laps within a set time. Road racing emerged the early 20th century, centered in Western Europe and Great Britain, as motor vehicles became more common. Road running is the sport of running on a measured course over an established road. This differs from track and field on a regular track and cross country running over natural terrain. Fonz (video Game)
is a 1976 racing video game developed and released by Sega in February 1976. Later the same year, Sega released two motorbike racing variants, (released in August) and ''Moto-Cross'', which were in turn re-branded as ''Fonz'', in November 1976. The game was based on the character Fonzie (portrayed by Henry Winkler) from the 1970s TV show ''Happy Days'', with the slogan being "TV's hottest name, Your hottest game". Sega licensed ''Fonz'' because at the time it was owned by Charles Bluhdorn's Gulf+Western Company and it was a Paramount Television intellectual property. A two-player version of ''Man T.T.'' called was released in January 1977. ''Roadracers'' is a 1994 made-for-television film directed by Robert Rodriguez, his second feature film following the success of his 1992 debut, ''El Mariachi''. Roadrunner Records is a Dutch–American record label focused on Heavy metal music, heavy metal and hard rock music. Founded in the Netherlands in 1980, it is now a division of Warner Music Group and is based in New York City.
