Rizal's 3rd Congressional District
Rizal's 3rd congressional district is one of the four congressional districts of the Philippines in the province of Rizal. It has been represented in the House of Representatives since 2022. The district consists of the north-western municipality of San Mateo. It is currently represented in the 19th Congress by Jose Arturo "Jojo" S. Garcia, Jr. of the Nationalist People's Coalition, who is its first representative since its creation. Rizal's 2nd Congressional District
Rizal's 2nd congressional district is one of the six congressional districts of the Philippines in the province of Rizal. It has been represented in the House of Representatives of the Philippines since 1916 and earlier in the Philippine Assembly from 1907 to 1916. The district consists of the municipalities of Baras, Cardona, Jalajala, Morong, Pililla, Tanay and Teresa. It is currently represented in the 19th Congress by Emigdio P. Tanjuatco III of the Liberal Party (LP). In 2021, the towns of Rodriguez and San Mateo, which have been part of the 2nd district since its creation, have been separated from the district to form their own respective legislative districts as the 3rd and 4th legislative districts of Rizal respectively. by virtue of Republic Act 11533. The 2022 Philippine House of Representatives elections were the 36th lower house elections in the Philippines. The election of the House of Representatives was held on May 9, 2022. The election is held concurrently with the 2022 presidential, Senate and local elections. A voter has two votes in the House of Representatives: one for the congressional district, and one for party-list. Parties of leading presidential candidates are expected to stand candidates in many districts. In the outgoing 18th Congress, there are 243 congressional districts. In the Philippines, local government is divided into three levels: provinces and independent cities, component cities and municipalities, and barangays, all of which are collectively known as local government units (LGUs). In one area, above provinces and independent cities, is an autonomous region, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao. Below barangays in some cities and municipalities are sitios and puroks. All of these, with the exception of sitios and puroks, elect their own executives and legislatures.
