Riverside is a small unincorporated community on the border of Davis Township and Logan Township in Fountain County Fountain County lies in the western part of the U.S. state of Indiana on the east side of the Wabash River. History Riverside was originally called Fountain City, and under the latter name was established in the 1850s when the Wabash Railroad was extended to that point. The Riverside neighborhood is a historic neighborhood on the near west side of Indianapolis, Indiana, United States. The housing consists mainly of American foursquare-type homes and bungalows built in the 1910s to 1920s. Seventy-five percent of the homes in the area were built before 1939. Riverside is named for its location beside the White River.
