''Rise of da Moon'' is the fourth studio album by American hip hop group Black Moon. It was released on October 18, 2019 via Duck Down Music. Produced entirely by Da Beatminerz, it features guest appearances from Smif-N-Wessun, Method Man and Rock. The album was preceded by the only single, "Creep Wit Me", which was released on June 14, 2019 with an accompanying music video, as well as the music video for "Black Moon Rise", which was released on September 20, 2019. Black Moon (group)
Black Moon (backronymed as Brothers Lyrically Acting Combining Kicking Music Out On Nations) is an American underground hip hop group from Brooklyn, New York City. Formed in the early '90s by rappers Buckshot, 5ft and record producer DJ Evil Dee, they debuted in 1992 with the release of the single " Who Got the Props?". The group was most notable for their debut album ''Enta da Stage'', and their affiliation with the Boot Camp Clik. As of 2019, the group has released four studio albums. Biography Early years The roots of Black Moon go back to Brooklyn's Bushwick High School, where Kasim "5ft" Reid and Ewart "DJ Evil Dee" Dewgrade met and formed a group called Unique Image. Rock (rapper)
Heltah Skeltah was an American hip hop duo which consisted of rappers Jahmal "Rock" Bush and Sean "Ruck" Price. The two were also members of New York supergroup Boot Camp Clik, along with Buckshot, Smif-N-Wessun and O.G.C. Biography Heltah Skeltah debuted on Smif-N-Wessun's album '' Dah Shinin''' in 1995, appearing on the tracks "Wontime", "Cession at da Doghillee" and "Let's Git It On". Later in 1995, they grouped up with fellow Boot Camp members O.G.C. to form the Fab 5 (a nod to the Beatles), and released a surprise hit single, "Leflaur Leflah Eshkoshka". Out of the Fab 5 members, Rock and Sean Price received the most attention for their charisma and chemistry. Da Beatminerz are a hip-hop production crew from Bushwick, Brooklyn, and are known for their dark, gritty sound that is very popular with the underground hip-hop scene. History The crew, originally composed of brothers Mr. Walt (born June 2, 1968) and DJ Evil Dee (born May 24, 1971), formed in 1992, making their production debut with Evil Dee's group Black Moon, on its debut single, "Who Got Da Props?" The duo produced the entirety of Black Moon's acclaimed debut album, ''Enta Da Stage'', in 1993, then continued production work with Black Moon's Buckshot and his crew Boot Camp Clik. Kenyatta Blake (born November 19, 1974), known professionally as Buckshot, is an American rapper from New York, best known as a frontman of hip hop groups Black Moon and Boot Camp Clik. He is a founder of Duck Down Music record label with Drew "Dru-Ha" Friedman. He has released one solo studio album – three with producer 9th Wonder, one with KRS-One, four albums with Black Moon and four albums with the Boot Camp Clik. Clifford Smith, Jr. (born March 2, 1971), better known by his stage name Method Man, is an American rapper, songwriter, record producer, and actor.
