Riders Of The Cactus
''Riders of the Cactus'' is a 1931 American Western film directed by David Kirkland and starring Hal Taliaferro, Buzz Barton and Fred Church. Location shooting took place in Sonora, California, and near Tucson, Arizona at the Tanque Verde Ranch and Mission San Xavier del Bac Mission. The film was made back-to-back with ''Flying Lariats''. Plot Smugglers on the Mexico–United States border pursue the tourist Josie after they learn that she has a valuable map that shows the location of buried treasure. Bronson rescues her, catching and beating the villains. Agents from the U.S. Border Patrol take the villains away, and Bronson and Josie turn the treasure over to a mission church where they are married. David Kirkland
David Kirkland (November 26, 1878 – October 27, 1964) was an American actor and film director of the silent and early sound eras. He was cast as Dr. Dopem in the Snakeville comedy series and directed several Keystone Studios comedy films. He was a pallbearer at Virginia Rappe's funeral. Kirkland's 1920 film ''The Perfect Woman'' was preserved by the Academy Film Archive in 2017. Ed Cartwright (actor)
Edward Charles "Jumbo" Cartwright (October 6, 1859 – September 3, 1933) was an American professional first baseman in Major League Baseball in 1890 and from 1894 to 1897. He played for the St. Louis Browns of the American Association (19th century), American Association (predecessor of the current St. Louis Cardinals) and the Washington Senators (1891–99), Washington Senators of the National League (baseball), National League. Cartwright is most famous for having seven Run batted in, RBI in one inning, accomplished with the Browns on September 23, 1890; his record would stand for 109 years until it was broken by Fernando Tatís of the Cardinals on April 23, 1999.
