Milton Teagle "Richard" Simmons (July 12, 1948 – July 13, 2024) was an American fitness instructor and television personality. He was a promoter of weight-loss programs, most prominently through his television show, ''The Richard Simmons Show'' and later the ''Sweatin' to the Oldies'' line of aerobics videos. Simmons began his weight-loss career by opening his gym Slimmons in Beverly Hills, California, catering to the overweight in a supportive atmosphere, and he became widely known through exposure on television and through the popularity of his consumer products. He was often parodied and was a frequent guest on late-night television and radio talk shows, such as the ''Late Show with David Letterman'' and ''The Howard Stern Show''. Richard Simmons (August 19, 1913 – January 11, 2003) was an American actor. Early life Simmons was born in Saint Paul, Minnesota, and his family later moved across the Mississippi River to Minneapolis. There, he attended West Side High School and then the University of Minnesota, where he studied drama. Simmons was a professional pilot. Career While attending the university, Simmons competed in fencing and swimming, and also acted in a few theater productions. Simmons left the Twin Cities in the 1930s to launch his film acting career in 1937. He soon became an MGM contract player. Many of his minor movie roles went uncredited through the 1940s. One even included his portrayal of a Mountie in '' King of the Royal Mounted'' produced by Republic Pictures. Starting in 1943, he began appearing in credited roles, beginning with his appearance in '' The Youngest Profession'', starring Virginia Weidler. Richard Alan Simmons
Richard Alan Simmons (October 11, 1924 – November 13, 2004) was a Canadian-American screenwriter. Simmons was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and served in the Royal Canadian Air Force during World War II. After the war, he graduated from the University of Toronto and then moved to California for a job with NBC radio, writing news and radio dramas. He moved into movies. He wrote the 1961 TV script for "The Price of Tomatoes" episode on "The Dick Powell Show", which was nominated for a writing Emmy and won an Emmy for star Peter Falk. Rich Simmons (born 20 February 1986) is a British pop artist based in London. Overview Simmons' depiction of ''Batman Kissing Superman'' gained notability when it was painted in London and New York City. In 2015 the mural in London was defaced in an act of 'homophobic vandalism', reaching condemnation from the leader of Croydon Council leader Tony Newman, also the owner of a print by Simmons. In 2011, he commemorated the wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William with a punk mural on an official graffiti wall on London's South Bank, inspired by the iconic 1970s photograph of the Sex Pistols’ Sid Vicious and girlfriend Nancy Reid taken by Jamie Reid.
