Richard Lane (born 21 July 1993) is an English professional rugby union player. He plays at wing and fullback for Bristol Bears in Premiership Rugby. In 2019 he was named as the Bedford Blues' "Players' Player" of the year. He has dual-registration with Cornish Pirates. Bedford is a market town in Bedfordshire, England. At the 2011 Census, the population was 106,940. Bedford is the county town of Bedfordshire and seat of the Borough of Bedford local government district. In the game of rugby union, there are 15 players on each team, comprising eight forwards (wearing jerseys numbered 1–8) and seven backs (numbered 9–15). In addition, there may be up to eight replacement players "on the bench", numbered 16–23. Players are not restricted to a single position, although they generally specialise in just one or two that suit their skills and body types. Players that play multiple positions are called "utility players".
