Richard French (US Politician)
Richard French (June 20, 1792 – May 1, 1854) was an American lawyer and politician who served three separate times as a U.S. Representative from Kentucky. Early life and career Born near Boonesborough, Kentucky, French attended private schools. He studied law. He was admitted to the bar in 1820 and commenced practice in Winchester, Kentucky. He served as member of the State house of representatives 1820–1826. He served as judge of the circuit court in 1829. U.S. House French was elected as a Jacksonian to the Twenty-fourth Congress (March 4, 1835 – March 3, 1837). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1836 to the Twenty-fifth Congress. He was an unsuccessful Democratic candidate for Governor of Kentucky in 1840. French was elected as a Democrat to the Twenty-eighth Congress (March 4, 1843 – March 3, 1845). Amos Davis
Amos Davis (August 15, 1794 – June 11, 1835) was a United States House of Representatives member from Kentucky. He was born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky, where he completed preparatory studies. Later, he studied law, was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Mount Sterling, Kentucky. He also served as sheriff of Montgomery County, Kentucky. Davis was a Kentucky House of Representatives member in 1819, 1825, 1827 and 1828. He was an unsuccessful candidate for election to the Twentieth and Twenty-second Congresses but was elected as an Anti-Jacksonian to the Twenty-third Congress (March 4, 1833 – March 3, 1835). While he was a candidate for reelection, he died in Owingsville, Kentucky, while campaigning in 1835. He was buried in the City Cemetery, Mount Sterling, Kentucky. Andrew Alkire Trumbo (September 15, 1797 – August 21, 1871) was a United States representative from Kentucky. He was born in Bath County, Kentucky and attended the common schools. He was employed in the county clerk's office. After studying law, he was admitted to the bar and commenced practice in Owingsville, Kentucky in 1824.In 1830, Andrew was the clerk and the Commonwealth attorney for Bath County. Trumbo was elected as a Whig to the Twenty-ninth Congress (March 4, 1845 – March 3, 1847). After leaving Congress, he was the presidential elector on the Democratic ticket in 1848. He resumed the practice of law and moved to Franklin County, Kentucky. John White (Kentucky Politician)
John D. White (February 14, 1802 – September 22, 1845) was an American lawyer and politician who was the 15th speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1841 to 1843. A member of the Whig Party, he represented Kentucky in the United States House of Representatives from 1835 to 1845. He was also a member of the Kentucky House of Representatives in 1832. Born near Middlesboro, Kentucky, a small rural mountain town located in the Eastern Kentucky Coalfield, John was a member of the prestigious White family of politicians of Kentucky and Tennessee.
