Rhosllanerchrugog F.C. was a Welsh football team from the village of Rhosllanerchrugog, Wrexham. In November 2018, it was announced that Ben Barlow, vocalist of the Welsh pop-punk band Neck Deep, had signed for the club. Welsh National League (Wrexham Area)
The Welsh National League (Wrexham Area) was a football league in Wales and operated at level 3 and 4 of the Welsh football league system in Flintshire and Wrexham County Borough, but with some teams from Denbighshire (Corwen and Llangollen Town) and Gwynedd (Llanuwchllyn). For sponsorship purposes it was last known as the ''Guy Walmsley & Co Welsh National League''. History The League grew out of the ''Wrexham and District League'' which ran during the early years of the twentieth century. At that time the senior clubs in the Wrexham area played in English leagues such as The Combination and the Birmingham & District League. Their reserve sides, along with local amateur teams, contested the Wrexham and District League (1903–1912). Wrexham County Borough ( cy, Bwrdeistref Sirol Wrecsam) is a county borough, with city status, in the north-east of Wales. It borders England to the east and south-east, Powys to the south-west, Denbighshire to the west and Flintshire to the north-west. The county borough has a population of 136,055. The city of Wrexham is its largest settlement, which together with villages such as Gwersyllt, New Broughton, Bradley and Rhostyllen form a built-up area with 65,692 residents. Ben Barlow
Neck Deep are a Welsh pop punk band from Wrexham, Wales formed in 2012. Founded after vocalist Ben Barlow met former lead guitarist Lloyd Roberts, the pair posted a song ("What Did You Expect?") online under the name Neck Deep. The song soon gained attention online, resulting in the addition of rhythm guitarist Matt West, drummer Dani Washington/Abasi, and bassist Fil Thorpe-Evans. They released a pair of EPs, '' Rain in July'' (2012) and '' A History of Bad Decisions'' (2013), both recorded by Barlow's older brother, before signing with Hopeless in August 2013. Following the release of their debut album '' Wishful Thinking'' in January 2014, the band became a full-time project, with the band members leaving their jobs and/or dropping out of university courses. The North East Wales League represented the North East Wales area at the fifth tier of the Welsh football league system. It began life in 2011 as the Clwyd East League, and was renamed as the North East Wales League in 2015. It folded in 2020 due a reorganisation of football in the Welsh football pyramid. FAW Trophy
The FAW Welsh Trophy is a knock-out football competition contested annually by teams from Wales and the borders. The Football Association of Wales is the organising body of this competition, which has been run every year since its inception in 1890–91 (except during the two World Wars) for clubs competing in the lower echelons of the Welsh football league system. It was known as the Welsh Junior Cup until 1902, when it became the Welsh Amateur Cup, a title it held until 1974, when it was renamed the FAW Intermediate Cup. The competition took its current title in 1993. Eligible clubs In order to play in this competition a club must compete at Level 3 or below of the Welsh football league system. Offa (died 29 July 796 AD) was King of Mercia, a kingdom of Anglo-Saxon England, from 757 until his death. The son of Thingfrith and a descendant of Eowa, Offa came to the throne after a period of civil war following the assassination of Æthelbald. Offa defeated the other claimant, Beornred. Corwen is a town and community in the county of Denbighshire in Wales. Historically, Corwen is part of the county of Merionethshire.
