Revolution In The Classroom
"Revolution in the Classroom" was a single released by the Ex Pistols; despite its packaging, the record was recorded by the existing and founding members of said group Sex Pistols. The single was released in 1989 on the STP Records label, pressed on various colours of vinyl. The American versions were dynamicly colored with EMT 140 plate reverb during mastering by Marty Munsch for the release. The song, along with its B-side "Schools Are Prisons", were both included on the Ex-Pistols album, '' Deny''. They also appear disguised as genuine Sex Pistols recordings on two Sex Pistols retrospective album A compilation album comprises tracks, which may be previously released or unreleased, usually from several separate recordings by either one or several performers. Ex Pistols
The Ex Pistols were an English punk rock band from London, England formed in 1979 by former Sex Pistols producer Dave Goodman. Goodman put the group together after his services were substituted for those of other producers on the Sex Pistols album ''Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols''. The Ex Pistols existed as a sound-alike band meant to mislead fans due to the similar music, name, and artwork, until 1992 when the Sex Pistols successfully sued Dave Goodman and he was no longer allowed to use the name. Music The first Ex Pistols release "Land of Hope and Glory" was a punk rock version of the old English classic "Land of Hope and Glory" by Edward Elgar. Not only did it confuse fans but it also caused legal trouble between Dave Goodman and the publisher of the original piece, Boosey & Hawkes. The next recordings would appear on numerous Sex Pistols compilation albums including the songs "Schools Are Prisons" and "Revolution in the Classroom". The "band" re- ...

Dave Goodman (record Producer)
Dave Goodman (29 March 1951 – 10 February 2005) was a record producer and musician, perhaps best known as the live sound engineer for Sex Pistols, and the producer of three of their studio demo sessions. Sex Pistols A few Sex Pistols fans prefer the raw "live" sound captured by Goodman to the official versions of the songs released as single A-sides and on the album ''Never Mind the Bollocks, Here's the Sex Pistols''. Goodman also maintained that many of his own production innovations and arrangement ideas in relation to the Sex Pistols songs were lifted and reused in the creation of the official releases. But many dislike the amateur empty sound in comparison to the overtly more professional official recordings the band chose to release. Recording sessions The first Goodman/Sex Pistols session was recorded between 13 and 30 July 1976 at the group's Denmark Street rehearsal room (with post-production at Riverside and Decibel Studios), when they were without a record contract. ...

Land Of Hope And Glory (Ex Pistols Song)
"Land of Hope and Glory" is a British patriotic song, with music by Edward Elgar, written in 1901 and with lyrics by A. C. Benson later added in 1902. Composition The music to which the words of the refrain 'Land of Hope and Glory, &c' below are set is the 'trio' theme from Edward Elgar's ''Pomp and Circumstance March No. 1''. The words were fitted to the melody on the suggestion of King Edward VII who told Elgar he thought the melody would make a great song. When Elgar was requested to write a work for the King's coronation, he worked the suggestion into his ''Coronation Ode'', for which he used words provided by the poet and essayist A. C. Benson. The first and last sections of the ''Ode'' use the march's melody. The first five notes of the refrain are similar to the first two bars of ''God Save the King'' in an early version published in 1745. Owing to the King's illness, the coronation was postponed. Elgar created a separate song, which was first performed by Madame Cl ...

Sex Pistols
The Sex Pistols were an English punk rock band formed in London in 1975. Although their initial career lasted just two and a half years, they were one of the most groundbreaking acts in the history of popular music. They were responsible for initiating the punk movement in the United Kingdom and inspiring many later punk and alternative rock musicians. Their fashion and hairstyles were a significant influence on punk image, and they are often associated with anarchism within music. The Sex Pistols originally comprised vocalist Johnny Rotten (John Lydon), guitarist Steve Jones, drummer Paul Cook, and bassist Glen Matlock; Matlock was replaced by Sid Vicious in early 1977. Under the management of Malcolm McLaren, the band attracted some controversies that both captivated and appalled Britain. Through an obscenity-laced television interview in December 1976 and their May 1977 single "God Save the Queen", the latter of which attacked Britons' social conformity and deference to t ...

Deny (album)
''Deny'' is the second album released by the Ex Pistols in 1992. Due to the cover art, the band is often miscredited as the "Sexless Pistols". The album itself isn't an official, chart worthy album, but a promo pressing of approximately 600 copies. It was given to fans of the Sex Pistols, and occasionally left in Virgin Record stores with a sticker on the front of the sleeve stating that it was actually free. There has never been much information given as to when and why the album was distributed, and as it was never available to purchase it is obviously not readily available. The record itself has become somewhat of a collector's item and copies are occasionally sold on eBay eBay Inc. If from several performers, there may be a theme, topic, time period, or genre which links the tracks, or they may have been intended for release as a single work—such as a tribute album.
