The Review of Agrarian Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal publishing research related to multidisciplinary theoretical and empirical investigations into agrarian studies in the developing world. It was founded in Indian based Foundation for Agrarian Studies (FAS) (www.agrarianstudies.org) and is published by them with Tulika Books (New Delhi). Its editor is V. K. Tulika Books
Tulika Books is an Indian publisher of scholarly and academic books in the humanities and social sciences, with a "broadly left perspective." The Chennai-based Tulika Publishers is a sister company of Tulika Books. History Tulika Books was founded in 1995 and is based in New Delhi. It is managed by the Managing Editor Indira (née Indu) Chandrasekhar, who started her career as a copy editor with Macmillan India in the 1980s and also did some teaching in Bangalore and Delhi Universities. The authors published by Tulika include some of India's best known left intellectuals and academics. Barbara Harriss-White
Barbara Harriss-White (born 1946) is an English economist and emeritus professor of development studies. She was trained in geography, agricultural science, agricultural economics and self-taught in development economics. In the 1990s, she helped to create the multi- and inter- disciplinary thematic discipline of development studies in Oxford Department of International Development; and in 2005-7 founded Oxford's Contemporary South Asia Programme. She has developed an approach to the understanding of Indian rural development and its informal economy, grounded in political economy and decades of what the economic anthropologist Polly Hill called ‘field economics’. John Harriss
John Charles Harriss (born England, 1945) is an emeritus professor of international studies at Simon Fraser University, visiting faculty at the London School of Economics and Professorial Associate at SOAS. In 2017, Harris was elected a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Career After earning his PhD, Harriss taught at the University of East Anglia and became the Dean of the School of Development Studies in 1987. In the early 1990s he joined the faculty of London School of Economics as Programme Director in Development Studies, in what was to become DESTIN, a postgraduate institute (now a Department) As Programme Director, he also was a managing editor of the ''Journal of Development Studies'' from 1999 until 2004. Sukhadeo Thorat
Sukhadeo Thorat (born 12 July 1949) an Indian economist, educationist, professor and writer. He is the former chairman of the University Grants Commission. He is professor emeritus in Centre for the Study of Regional Development, Jawaharlal Nehru University. He is an expert on B. R. Ambedkar. Education Thorat hails from Buddhist community of Maharashta.
