''Return to the Promised Land'' is a gospel music soundtrack and 80th overall album by American country singer Johnny Cash and his wife, June Carter Cash. The album was released in 2000 as the soundtrack to the 45-minute VHS video of the same title released in 1992 by Rev. Billy Graham's World Wide Pictures. ''Return to the Promised Land'' was the last religious-themed album Cash would release in his lifetime; a collection of hymns recorded for American, ''My Mother's Hymn Book'' was released posthumously in late 2003 as part of the '' Unearthed'' box set and as a 2004 standalone issue. The Holy Land (album)
''The Holy Land'' is a concept album, the third gospel album and 30th overall album by country singer Johnny Cash, released on Columbia Records in 1969. He recorded the album inspired by a visit to Israel (the Holy Land of the title) with his wife, June Carter Cash and in fact most of the album consists of on-site recordings made by Cash using a portable tape recorder during a visit describing what he sees as he visits holy sites in and around Jerusalem. The remainder of the album consists of gospel songs. The album was completed at Columbia Studios in Nashville, Tennessee, where overdubs were added to some of the on-site recordings and remaining songs were recorded. George Bennard
George Bennard (February 4, 1873 – October 10, 1958) was an American hymn composer and preacher. He is best known for composing the famous hymn, "The Old Rugged Cross". Early years Bennard was born in the coal-mining and iron-production town of Youngstown, Ohio. When he was still a child, his parents relocated the family to Albion, Michigan. Some time later, they moved again to Lucas, Iowa. Although the young Bennard aspired to become a Christian evangelist, he was compelled to support his mother and sisters after his father died suddenly. House Of Cash
The House of Cash was a museum in Hendersonville, Tennessee, owned by American musician Johnny Cash and his wife June Carter Cash, and devoted to his life and work. With part of the building also used as their headquarters offices, the museum opened in 1970, adapted from a dinner theatre built in 1960. It closed by 1995. It was located at 700 East Main Street (now known as Johnny Cash Parkway). A new and unrelated Johnny Cash Museum opened in Nashville, Tennessee, in 2013. History The House of Cash was adapted from the 15,000 square foot Plantation Dinner Theatre built in 1960. John Carter Cash (born March 3, 1970) is an American country singer-songwriter, musician and author. He is the only child of Johnny Cash and his second wife June Carter Cash. He is the grandson of Mother Maybelle Carter. Biography John has four older half-sisters from his father's first marriage to Vivian Cash (née Liberto). They are Rosanne, Kathy, Cindy, and Tara.
