Return of the Devil's Son, is the third posthumous album by American rapper Big L. It was released on November 23, 2010, through SMC Recordings. Officially put together by L's brother Donald Phinazee, ''Return of the Devil's Son'' is a collection of previously unreleased material, including early demo tracks, outtakes from ''Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous'' and '' The Big Picture'' together with a few freestyles and new remixes. Big L
Lamont Coleman (May 30, 1974February 15, 1999), known professionally as Big L, was an American rapper and record executive. Emerging from Harlem in New York City in 1992, Coleman became known among underground hip-hop fans for his freestyling ability. He was eventually signed to Columbia Records, where, in 1995, he released his debut album, '' Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous''. On February 15, 1999, Coleman was shot nine times in his East Harlem neighborhood and later died from his injuries. 139 & Lenox is the second posthumous studio album by American hip hop artist Big L. It was released on August 31, 2010 by Flamboyant. The title of the album refers to the street of Harlem where Big L was raised in. The 12-song collection of rare and unreleased tracks is a tribute to the revered DITC rapper's hallowed Harlem block, featuring production by the late Roc Raida on "On the Mic (Roc Raida Turntablist Mix)", as well as Big L's former fellow Rawkus artists Hi-Tek and Buckwild. Previously-unheard early mixes to classic L tracks like "Ebonics" and "Platinum Plus" and a live version of L's controversial 1st single "Devil's Son" can be heard alongside rare classics like "Furious Anger." The album was slated for a 1999 release, but due to Big L's murder, it was posthumously released on August 1, 2000, on Rawkus Records. ''Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous'' is the debut studio album by American rapper Big L, and the only to be released during his lifetime. It was released on March 28, 1995 by Columbia Records. Recording sessions took place primarily at Powerplay Studios in Queens, New York in mid-to-late 1994. Production was handled by Buckwild, Lord Finesse, Showbiz and Craig Boogie. The album debuted at number 149 on the US ''Billboard'' 200 and number 22 on R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, but did not chart internationally. ''Lifestylez ov da Poor & Dangerous'' spawned three singles: "Put It On", "M.V.P.", and "No Endz, No Skinz", the first two both peaked within the top 25 on the US Hot Rap Tracks and Hot Dance Singles Sales.
