2019 Spanish Local Elections
The 2019 Spanish local elections were held on Sunday, 26 May 2019, to elect all 66,979 councillors in the 8,131 municipalities of Spain and all 1,038 seats in 38 provincial deputations. The elections were held simultaneously with regional elections in twelve autonomous communities, as well as elections in the three foral deputations of the Basque Country, the four island councils in the Balearic Islands, the seven island cabildos in the Canary Islands and the European Parliament. The Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE), invigorated from its general election win the previous month, emerged as the largest political party in the elections overall for the first time since 2007, scoring first place in the popular vote for the first time since 2003 and achieving its largest margin of victory over the People's Party (PP) since the 1991 elections. Communist Party Of The Workers Of Spain
The Communist Party of the Workers of Spain (, abbreviated PCTE) is a Marxist–Leninist communist party in Spain. The PCTE was founded on March 3, 2019 as the result of a split in the Communist Party of the Peoples of Spain (PCPE). The youth organization of the PCTE is called the Collectives of Communist Youth. History The PCTE contested both the April 2019 Spanish general election (14,189 votes, 0.05%) and the election for the European Parliament (19,081, 0.09%). On the same day of the European parliament election, the PCTE competed in five regional elections and in sixteen municipalities. Siero
Siero is a municipality of the autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. With a population of 52,194 as of 2023, Siero is the fourth most populous municipality in Asturias. It has a total of 29 parishes, with the largest being Lugones; its capital parish is La Pola Siero. It is located centrally within Asturias, and the northernmost point of Siero is about 10 km from Asturias' largest city, Gijón, and the shores of the Cantabrian Sea. San Martín del Rey Aurelio (Asturian language, Asturian: Samartín del Rei Aurelio) is a Municipalities of Spain, municipality of the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias in northern Spain. Langreo () or Llangréu () ( Asturian) is a municipality and town in northern Spain, in Asturias. It is the 4th largest town of Asturias with 43,000 inhabitants. Avilés (Asturian and ;) is a town in Asturias, Spain. Avilés is, along with Oviedo and Gijón, one of the main cities in the Principality of Asturias.
