Reinhold Bertlmann
Reinhold Anton Bertlmann (born 7 March 1945 in Reutte) is an Austrian-born physicist and professor of physics at the University of Vienna. He is known for his research in particle physics, where he wrote the standard textbook ''Anomalies in Quantum Field Theory'', and in the field of Bell inequalities, in particular from the quantum comparison ''Bertlmann’s Socks'' of John Bell. Education and career Bertlmann studied technical physics at the Vienna University of Technology and Theoretical Physics at the University of Vienna, where he received his Ph.D. degree in 1974. He worked as a scientist in Vienna, at the JINR in Dubna and at CERN. After his Habilitation in Theoretical Physics in Vienna 1981 about ''Duality between resonances and asymptotia'', he held visiting professorships in Marseille, at the University Paris-Sud and at the CNRS. Reutte
Reutte (; Swabian: ) is a town in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It is the administrative center of the Reutte district (''Districts of Austria''). Reutte is located on the Lech, and has a population of 6,704 (as of 2018). Neighbouring municipalities Adjacent municipalities and villages are: Breitenwang, Ehenbichl, Lechaschau and Pflach. History Reutte is located on the Via Claudia Augusta, a Roman road leading from Italy to Germany. The Tyrolean Salt Road from Hall in Tirol to Lake Constance crossed the entire district of Außerfern. Reutte (then Reuti) was declared a market town by Sigmund on June 5 1489. This was confirmed later by Maximilian I who also added some further rights. INSPIRE-HEP is an open access digital library for the field of high energy physics (HEP). It is the successor of the Stanford Physics Information Retrieval System (SPIRES) database, the main literature database for high energy physics since the 1970s. History SPIRES was (in addition to the CERN Document Server (CDS), arXiv and parts of Astrophysics Data System) one of the main Particle Information Resources. A survey conducted in 2007 found that SPIRES database users wanted the portal to provide more services than the, at that time, already 30-year-old system could provide. On the second annual Summit of Information Specialists in Particle Physics and Astrophysics in May 2008, the physics laboratories CERN, DESY, SLAC and Fermilab therefore announced that they would work together to create a new Scientific Information System for high energy physics called INSPIRE.
