Reflections (The Judds Album)
''Reflections'' is a compilation album by American country duo The Judds. It was released on August 16, 1994, via Curb and RCA Nashville. It was mostly produced by Brent Maher, but also included some assistance from Don Potter. ''Reflections'' was The Judds's sixth compilation release in their career and among several to reach a charting position on a ''Billboard'' survey. Background, content and release ''Reflections'' was recorded in several sessions between 1985 and 1989. It was produced by Brent Maher and Don Potter. ''Reflections'' was released three years after The Judds had disbanded as a duo. The duo had 14 number one country singles in the 1980s. In 1991, they ended their musical partnership after Naomi Judd was diagnosed with Hepatitis C. The Judds
The Judds were an American country music duo composed of lead vocalist-guitarist Wynonna Judd and her mother Naomi Judd on backup vocals. The duo signed to RCA Records in 1983 and released six studio albums between then and 1991. The Judds were one of the most successful acts in country music history, winning five Grammy Awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal, and nine Country Music Association awards. They also charted more than twenty singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Songs charts, including fourteen that went to number one. After eight years as a duo, the Judds disbanded in 1991 after Naomi was diagnosed with hepatitis C. Wynonna began a highly successful solo career soon after, although she and her mother reunited on multiple occasions. After the duo's last performance at the CMT Music Awards in April, Naomi Judd died by suicide on April 30, 2022, before she and Wynonna were inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame. ''River of Time'' is the fifth studio album by American country music duo the Judds, released on April 4, 1989 by RCA Records. It features the singles "Young Love (Strong Love)," "Let Me Tell You About Love," "One Man Woman" and "Guardian Angels." While the first two singles reached #1 on the country charts, the latter two peaked at #8 and #16 respectively, with "Guardian Angels" being their first single since 1983's "Had a Dream (For the Heart)" to miss Top Ten. "Do I Dare" is not included on the cassette or vinyl versions. Critical reception ''Billboard'' reviewed the album in the April 15, 1989 issue. The review said, "Although this album has fewer memorable songs than the stunning ''Heartland'', it is still a pure sonic feast. Wynonna Ellen Judd, known simply as Wynonna ( ; born Christina Claire Ciminella; May 30, 1964), is an American country music singer. She is one of the most widely recognized and awarded female country musicians in history. She has had 19 No. 1 singles, including those with The Judds. She first rose to fame in the 1980s alongside her mother, Naomi, in their mother-daughter country music duo, The Judds. Jerry Wayne Gillespie (born Decatur, Alabama) is an American country songwriter. He co-wrote " Do You Love as Good as You Look", a #1 song in 1981 for The Bellamy Brothers, and wrote " Heaven's Just a Sin Away", a #1 country hit in 1977 for The Kendalls. He co-wrote " Somebody's Knockin'", a Grammy Award finalist in 1982 for Terri Gibbs, and " I Just Can't Stay Married to You", a #5 hit for Christy Lane in 1979. He wrote or co-wrote a number of successful songs for Tommy Overstreet, including "Gwen (Congratulations)", co-written with Ricci Mareno, a #5 country hit in 1971, and "That's When My Woman Begins a #6 country hit in 1975. James Paul O'Hara (August 8, 1950 – January 7, 2021) was an American country music artist. Between 1986 and 1990, he and Kieran Kane comprised The O'Kanes, a duo that charted seven singles on the ''Billboard'' Hot Country Singles charts, including the No. 1 single "Can't Stop My Heart from Loving You". After the O'Kanes disbanded in 1990, both O'Hara and Kane recorded solo albums of their own. Thomas James Schuyler (born June 10, 1952) is an American songwriter. Schuyler wrote songs recorded by more than 200 various artists including "16th Avenue" for Lacy J. Donald Allen Schlitz Jr. (born August 29, 1952) is an American songwriter who has written more than twenty number one hits on the country music charts. He is best known for his song " The Gambler" (Kenny Rogers), and as the co-writer of " Forever and Ever, Amen" (Randy Travis), and " When You Say Nothing at All" ( Keith Whitley and Alison Krauss & Union Station).
