Redwall (novel)
''Redwall'' is a fantasy novel by Brian Jacques. Originally published in 1986, it is the first book of the '' Redwall'' series. The book was illustrated by Gary Chalk, with the British cover illustration by Pete Lyon and the US cover by Troy Howell. It is also one of the three ''Redwall'' novels to be made into an animated television series (which is aired on PBS, but produced by the Canadian studio Nelvana), along with '' Mattimeo'' (Season 2) and '' Martin the Warrior'' (Season 3). Plot summary A young anthropomorphic mouse named Matthias is a novice monk at Redwall Abbey, where he was adopted as a young orphan, though he dreams of a life of adventure, inspired by the legends of Martin the Warrior, the founder of Redwall. Brian Jacques
James Brian Jacques (, as in "Jakes"; 15 June 1939 – 5 February 2011), known professionally as Brian Jacques, was an English author known for his ''Redwall'' series of children's fantasy novels and ''Castaways of the Flying Dutchman'' series. He also completed two collections of short stories entitled ''The Ribbajack, The Ribbajack & Other Curious Yarns'' and ''Seven Strange and Ghostly Tales''. Early life James Brian Jacques was born in Liverpool on 15 June 1939. Jacques' parents were James Alfred Jacques, a truck driver, and Ellen Ryan, both born in Liverpool. Patrick Nolen McHale (born November 17, 1983) is an American animator, storyboard artist, screenwriter, director, and musician. He is well known for creating the animated television miniseries ''Over the Garden Wall.'' Life and career Early career McHale graduated from the California Institute of the Arts in Santa Clarita in 2006 with a BFA in character animation. He began his professional career at Cartoon Network Studios in 2007, as a writer and storyboard artist on Thurop Van Orman's '' The Marvelous Misadventures of Flapjack''. Richard Starkings (born 27 January 1962) is a British font designer and comic book letterer, editor and writer. He was one of the early pioneers of computer-based comic-book lettering, and is one of the most prolific creators in that industry. Career Starkings' lettering style was originally inspired by British comic strip letterers Bill Nuttall and Tom Frame. Starkings' UK career began with lettering jobs in '' 2000 AD''s ''Future Shocks'' and various strips in ''Warrior''. Bret Blevins (sometimes spelled Brett Blevins) (born August 13, 1960) is an American comics artist, animation storyboard artist, and painter. He is perhaps best known for his stint as the regular penciler of ''New Mutants'' for Marvel Comics. The Carnegie Medal for Writing, established in 1936 as the Carnegie Medal, is an annual British literary award for English-language books for children or young adults. ''Eulalia!'' is the 19th book in the ''Redwall'' children's fantasy novel series by author Brian Jacques and illustrated by David Elliot (illustrator), David Elliot.
