Red Letter Media, LLC is an American film and video production company operated by independent filmmakers Mike Stoklasa, Jay Bauman, and Rich Evans. It was formed by Stoklasa in 2004 while he was living in the Scottsdale section of Ashburn, Chicago, but has long been based in the Copernicus Park neighborhood of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The company and its members have produced a number of low-budget productions including ''Oranges: Revenge of the Eggplant'', ''Feeding Frenzy'', ''The Recovered'', and '' Space Cop''. The company attracted significant attention in 2009 through Stoklasa's 70-minute ''Mr Plinkett Review'' video essay on the 1999 film '' Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.'' Audio Commentary
An audio commentary is an additional audio track, usually digital, consisting of a lecture or comments by one or more speakers, that plays in real time with a video. Commentaries can be serious or entertaining in nature, and can add information which otherwise would not be disclosed to audience members. History The Criterion Collection introduced audio commentary on the LaserDisc format, which was able to accommodate multiple audio tracks. The first commentary track, for the 1933 film '' King Kong'', was recorded by Ronald Haver, a curator at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and was inspired by the stories Haver told while supervising the film-to-video transfer process. Criterion expected that the commentary would only be of interest to serious film students. Heeb (magazine)
''Heeb'' is an American Jewish website (and from 2001 to 2010, a quarterly magazine) aimed predominantly at young Jews. The name of the publication is a reference to the ethnic slur "heeb", an abbreviation of Hebrew. However, in this case, the word "heeb" seeks to function as empowerment for the Jewish community, thus eliminating the hatred associated with the word. Origin The magazine was founded by Jennifer Bleyer, a graduate of Columbia University, and backed financially by Steven Spielberg and Charles Bronfman. Bleyer, who now writes for ''The New York Times'', ended her association with the magazine in 2003. Taking over for her as editor and publisher was Harvard Divinity School graduate Joshua Neuman. Neuman's goal was to spread the idea of ''Heeb'' as a "lifestyle magazine", incorporating events like a traveling ''Heeb'' Storytelling show in order to reach an underserved Jewish progressive market around the country.
