Sremska Rača () is a village located in the city of Sremska Mitrovica, Serbia. As of 2011 census, the village has a population of 624 inhabitants. A border crossing between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina is located in the village. Name In Serbian, the village is known as ''Sremska Rača'' (Сремска Рача), in Croatian as ''Srijemska Rača'', and in Hungarian as ''Racsa''. Sremska Raca is a settlement in Serbia in the municipality Sremska Mitrovica in the Srem district and is 35 km away from Sremska Mitrovica. This is a list of the rivers of Serbia, either those flowing entirely or partially within Serbia proper, or just being a border rivers. Drainage basins All rivers in Serbia belong to the drainage basins of three seas: Black Sea, Adriatic Sea or Aegean Sea. The largest in area, Black Sea drainage basin, covers an area of 81,261 km2 or 92% of the territory of Serbia. The entire basin is drained by only one river, the Danube, which flows into the Black Sea. All major rivers in Serbia, like Tisa, Sava, Velika Morava and Drina belong to it. The Adriatic Sea drainage basin covers an area of 4,500 km2 or 5% of territory of Serbia. Rača Bridge
The Rača Bridge ( sr, Мост у Рачи) is an international bridge over the Sava river, from Sremska Rača in Serbia to Bosanska Rača in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Bridge of Maria of Yugoslavia (Мост краљице Марије) was opened on 28 June 1934. The bridge was built by mainly Italian workers. On September 6, 2010, the Serbian government and Milorad Dodik opened the new Bridge of Europe (Мост Европа), a road bridge built just to the west of the Maria Bridge. Boris Tadić said he hoped the bridge would further bring closer the peoples of both sides of the Sava river, contributing economically Serbia and the Republika Srpska entity. Rača Monastery
The Rača Monastery ( sr-cyrl, Манастир Рача, Manastir Rača) is a Serbian Orthodox monastery 7 km south of Bajina Bašta, Serbia. The monastery was built by Stefan Dragutin (1276-1282). The monastery became a place where Serbian rulers, nobles, and church dignitaries were buried. The monks translated texts from Ancient Greek, wrote histories, and copied manuscripts (the most famous scriptorium was in Rača, known as the School of Rača, which flourished from the sixteenth- to the eighteenth-century); they translated and copied not only liturgical but scientific and literary works of the period.
