Raï'n'B (series)
''Raï'n'B Fever'' is a collective of mainly Algerian Raï, R&B and rap/urban artists contributing their best output of the Raï'n'B genre of music with fusion of elements of both genres in a series of albums also called ''Raï'n'B Fever'' albums. The collective and the albums were the idea of the DJ duo Kore & Skalp as duo Kore & Skalp, who in a matter of years became the most known producers of the genre. The initial album was released with great commercial success in 2004, followed by a number of follow-up albums produced by Kore and his brother DJ Bellek in 2006 and 2008, a special album 2009 (Même pas fatigué) and another by Kore in 2011. Raï
Raï (, ; ar, راي, Latn, ar, rāʾy, ), sometimes written rai, is a form of Algerian folk music that dates back to the 1920s. Singers of Raï are called ''cheb'' (Arabic: شاب) (or ''shabab,'' i.e. young) as opposed to ''sheikh'' (Arabic: شيخ) ('' shaykh'', i.e. old), the name given to Chaabi singers. The tradition arose in the city of Oran, primarily among the poor. Traditionally sung by men, by the end of the 20th century, female singers had become common. Mélanie Georgiades (; born 25 July 1980 in Nicosia), better known by her stage name Diam's (), is a French rapper of Greek Cypriot origin. Biography Mélanie Marie Georgiades was born on July 25, 1980 in Nicosia, capital of Cyprus. Her mother is French and her father is Greek Cypriot. Samir Djoghlal (born 2 May 1981), better known as L'Algérino (), is an Algerian-French rapper and singer whose family came from the Chaoui- Berber tribes in Khenchela, Algeria. Hamid Cheriet ( kab, Ḥamid Ceryat; 25 October 1949 – 2 May 2020), better known by his stage name Idir, was an Algerian Kabyle singer-songwriter and musician. Referred to as the "King of Amazigh music", he is regarded as one of the more significant modern day figures in Algerian and Amazigh culture, history, and struggle. Along with musicians like Ferhat Mehenni and Lounis Aït Menguellet, Idir helped popularize Raï folk music.
