Rashed Uddin Ahmed Topu
Rashed Uddin Ahmed Topu (born 2 June 1982) popularly known as Topu is a Bangladeshi musician, singer-songwriter and composer as well as the lead vocalist of Yaatri. In 2004, Topu formed the band "Yaatri" and began his career with a compilation album ''Shopnochura'' released in 2004. He rose to fame with the release of the single "Ek Paye Nupur". and signed with G-Series (record label), G-Series and released the first band album ''Daak'' in 2006. He released his first solo studio album ''Bondhu Bhabo Ki'' in 2008, followed by the huge popularity, he released four solo studio albums, ''Shey Ke?'' (2010), ''Aar Tomake'' (2013), and ''Dekha Hobe Boley'' (2015). Life and career 1982–2004: Early life Topu was born on 2 June 1982. Fuad Almuqtadir is a Bangladeshi-American composer and arranger. Early life Fuad left Bangladesh in 1988 to New York city with his family. Fuad grew up with the NRB community of New York City where he learned about Bangladeshi culture and music. Career Fuad’s first full-length album was the self-released Maya in 1998, which shot him to underground popularity in the diaspora. His next album, Re/Evolution, was released by Aarshi Records in 2003. Anila (singer)
Anila Naz Chowdhury (born November 23, 1979) is a Bangladeshi singer who started her musical career as a part of the band Kranti. She is best known for her collaborations with Fuad al Muqtadir and her duet album Ekhon Ami with Sumon. Music career After Kranti disbanded, she collaborated with Fuad for his albums, and has sung at least one song in all of his albums, except one. Among them the most notable is "Ke Bashi Bajay Re". She also introduced singer Topu to Fuad, which led to their album "Bondhu Bhabo Ki". Fuad's 2015 album "Hit Factory" included her song "Itihaash". Her duet album Ekhon Ami with Sumon became a top seller in both Bangladesh and India. The songs "Gaibona", Shopnogulo Tomar Moto", "Shobar Jonno Bhabcho Tumi" became chartbusters. Ekushey Book Fair
The Ekushey Book Fair, officially called the Eternal Twenty-first Book Fair, is the largest book fair in Bangladesh. Organized annually in February by Bangla Academy in Dhaka, the month-long event is free to all. In 2024, the fair attracted six million visitors and generated a record in book sales. Named after the colloquial Bengali name for International Mother Language Day ''or 'Ekushey (), the event commemorates those who died on during the Bengali Language Movement, which sought to establish Bengali as the state languages of former East Pakistan. Structure Usually, the fair continues from 1 to 28 February. It takes place in Bangla Academy premises and Suhrawardi Udyan.
